ryhanna 3,507
It was a bit of a messy era, though. It was released quickly to cover Judas (like DWUW), and the video had internal drama (like DWUW)... All things considered, it did pretty well. If it were released as the second single instead of Judas, and if the video had gone the way it was planned, it probably would have been much bigger. Popero22 8
The video. If that flawless song got the video it deserved, teog could've been bigger than BR. Couldn't agree with you more! I want to call that b---h Delilah and make her play my God damn ducking song over and over!!!!! :
Ascetic 0
Awfully boring video and hardly any promo, and people just weren't with it. Possibly why Gypsy is a risky single.
SISTERV 3,887
Kinda agree with you. In the past, they'd love to see a new crazy GaGa video. Now, they're not that interested in her videos 'cause they started to be less appealing. Right! I think this is why Applause did so well in the long run and had a 16 week run in the Top Ten. She offered a very unique visual that kept the single alive. Had Gaga released DWUW video around the time of the AMAs, it would have possibly touched into the top 5. This also makes sense because Billboard counts music video views now in how they chart a single.
Popero22 8
#JusticeforTEOG I wonder if it was released now, or ooohh if it was REreleased :D Awfully boring video and hardly any promo, and people just weren't with it. Possibly why Gypsy is a risky single. Exactly!!!!!! I'm kind of scared Gypsy won't live up to our expectations. I'm sure if she accompanies it with a GREAT video it'll do fine. Oh the possibilities....

Arturo 40,746
It was one of Gaga's BIGGEST radio hits .. And it ended up selling 2.8 million in the U.S so it was pretty sizable..

Where do you get all your references? I barely heard it on the radio, similar to Judas.
Arturo 40,746
Where do you get all your references? I barely heard it on the radio, similar to Judas. Billboard It peaked at #4 on Radio Songs, #3 on Pop Radio, #2 on Adult Pop Radio (her highest peaking single on that radio format), #7 on Adult Contemporary Radio (her only Top 10 on that format) Plus it was a pretty sizable worldwide hit too. It was much bigger than Applause in every country.. And it's strange that you heard TEOG as much as Judas considering TEOG sold 2.8M and Judas has failed to crack 1M (currently at 950k)
HeavyMetalLuvah 0
I can't with all this shade at TEOG video. The song had an overall feel and aesthetic to it. One that needed the type of video it had. That song, and most of the album/era had a VERY strong 80's, NYC, Springsteen vibe to it. The video represented it beautifully. A video full of graphics, special effects and a mermaid(?) would have just conflicted with the song itself imo. Not my favorite video of hers, but I do love love love. Just Gaga, NYC, and Versace. Flopin Thicke 0
I totally agree with you. The song is so powerful, has so much pasison, and is an overall great song.
Gaga is Life 101
It was a massive hit here and #3 on Billboard is amazing to me. I thought it was all over radio in the US as well, like here.
