dc1993 1 Posted January 30, 2014 Share Posted January 30, 2014 Look where we are again. January the year after Gaga releases an album - and everything seems to have halted. Ring any bells? Now, yes you can argue that Gaga is telling us about all these "events" she's busy planning behind the scenes. But has she mentioned single or music video plans? She's told us about people integral to the album doing well commercially betraying her and treating her badly - but not about her plans to pick the singles back up. Going this long without mentioning the single feels exactly like the Marry The Night situation. The label cut it and Gaga goes into her shell to plan the tour. The general public move onto other artists, and the true fans are left feeling as if they need to defend Gaga whenever somebody mentions her "disappearing" (on tour). So, is ARTPOP Act I (single-wise) over? Will Act II be a second bid at returning her to the position of golden-girl in the general public's eyes? Or will the ArtRave be the last promo the album gets before she swiftly begins planning the next record? I really wanna know what people think (not in Poll-form) If you were here for Born This Way - you know what prolonged silences from her tend to mean. Helix 1,474 Posted January 30, 2014 Share Posted January 30, 2014 I personally don't think it is. I just refuse to believe Gaga, of all people, would give up on an album only 3 months into the cycle. To me, she's taking a break and that's okay. She said she's coming back so I'm not worrying about her dropping off a cliff again I'm sure she's planning all kinds of things. Hell, she's probably planning Act II. Anyway, by the looks of it this is going to be one of Gaga's "down" eras. Nobody can always remain at the top and this seems like her time. garnite 8 Posted January 30, 2014 Share Posted January 30, 2014 i get the feeling the only surprises and things she's busy planning are things related to the tour. like the stage design or outfits or a born brave bus type thing, things like that. she's busy for the rest of the year on tour, i doubt these things are related to anything else because things generally get quiet while she's on tour. A single-era that gets messed up and seemingly abandoned, with no word from Gaga on what actually has happened. Meanwhile she's planning for the tour and, as far as the general public are concered, the album cycle is over. i get the feeling the only surprises and things she's busy planning are things related to the tour. like the stage design or outfits, things like that. she's busy for the rest of the year on tour, i doubt it has something to do with anything else. This is what Im thinking too. She cares about the fans = putting on the best tour = not trying with another single when people on her team ****ed her over with Venus / DWUW / DWUW video. G.U.Y., Sexxx Dreams, Venus. Sorry I meant in terms of singles + the general public's perception of her - and ultimately her place as one of the "biggest pop stars" of today etc etc. In those terms, the era did halt. Everyone who wasn't a fan and didn't really care when she was wasnt releasing massive no.1s assumed she disappeared to lick her wounds and come back with a better album or something.
