Let Love Down 63
Gaga said she never produced music for the chart (music not the bling) How come TFM can be so successful compared to much weaker ARTPOP? Did she change the direction of producing music for the chart to do whatever she likes no matter the sales? Or TFM era is her peak, a coincidential success that never happens again? steven1992 1
tbh i do believe that. TF/TFM was only successful because of how famous and new she was at the time. Say she'd released BTW (album) first, that would've performed well. Say she released TFM now, it would've had ARTPOP's success.
Rollercoaster 2
She worked with the producer of her biggest hits for a whole EP and had expensive videos and loads of promo accidentally...

Foivos 64
Yes because Gaga never wanted to become famous.. Watch an imterview or two of her and you will realise she was always wanted to become famous and to top the charts!
GagaMyBlood95 9,915
It was simply good, new and fresh at the time!

BLACKOUTbritney 22,264
I think gaga and interscope listened to TFM and thought "we gon b rich $$$" Although it's a masterpiece it is quite safe compared to the lyrics and production of BTW. I'm sure they were expecting success, probably not as much, but defiantly something
Giorgiii 0
at that time she was struggling to get noticed as an artist !! that's all

Pitch 204
Redone, if gaga wants to be successful again she NEEDS to leave DJWS LADY GAGA/madonna/katy perry/little mix/ariana grande/selena gomez/britney spears/taylor swift

Let Love Down 63
at that time she was struggling to get noticed as an artist !! that's all So she used to want to be success and wrote for the chart but now, she no longer focus on the chart performance? why? Celina 118
So she used to want to be success and wrote for the chart but now, she no longer focus on the chart performance? why? Tbh I don't think she ever "wrote for the charts," or that they were ever her only goal... But that doesn't mean she didn't want to be successful. Melodean 8,316
I think music made for the charts will flop harder than music that isn't. Like Lorde for example. https://open.spotify.com/track/7q1GGm2mBlC9hPWige0C6e?si=6b5319d0e3b44fa6
