Wait, TFM EP sales goes to TF+TFM??? ...because in US TF+TFM is certified 4x Platinum for 4.5 million copies sold and the EP is certified Paltinum with 1.5 million copies sold so it's considered a different release. Also in Australia, France, Japan, Finland, Denmark, Sweden TFM is considered a standalone release not a re-release so the sales shouldn't go to TF....I'm so confused. :ohno:

I wish Gaga never done this re-release tbh. :fail:

Yes. In the US TFM(EP) sold 1.5 M. WW THE FAME+ THE FAME MONSTER-15M.

ARTPOP will smash. Lady Gaga is still Lady Gaga she just need WW hits her last WW hit was Born This Way and it is the only one WW smash from BTW thats why It sold 6-7 mln copies. If ARTPOP have atleast 3 WW smashes it will sell more than Born This Way easily.

If I were her I'd forget about separating commercial from experimental and focus on creating two well-rounded volumes with a mixture of both. The second volume can afford to be more experimental though because the first volume will have eased people into it and she should show some progression.

Having effectively two albums within an era is a smart move for her. She starts off strong thanks to fan support and hype but burns out quicker as a result, so by giving herself two "starts" through two volumes she can address her problem with campaign longevity and reap the rewards.

I'm thinking a solid era would be;

2013

- 1st single, fan supported (Jan)

- Grammy/Brits performance (Feb)

- 2nd single, fan supported (Apr)

- ARTPOP VOL I (Apr)

- 3rd single (Jul)

- Glastonbury (Jul)

- VMA performance (Aug)

- 1st single, fan supported (Oct)

- AMA/AI/XF performances (Nov)

- ARTPOP VOL II (Nov)

2014

- 2nd single (Feb)

- Grammy/Brits performance (Feb)

- Launch ARTPOP tour (Mar)

- 3rd single (May)

The volumes are 8 months apart to allow each to breathe, the first arrives after TBTWB ends(?) and the second arrives in time for the Christmas sales surge. They should be available to buy separately or as a combined package. 6 singles throughout era, all of which could be potential hits and 3 of which will be fan supported (i.e. debut to iTunes) so will have an easier shot at #1.

She could stretch it out more and have 4 singles from each, releasing the second volume to coincide with the second single in February 2014 but I think realistically that will be pushing things into major overexposure.

Where the Terry Richardson film and Tony Bennet album fits in amongst this, who knows. I'd probably put the film out after ARTPOP VOL I is out and TBTWB ends, but the duets album is going to get overshadowed at any point in 2013.

or the experimental album could do so well that the it starts a trend thus becoming the commercial album?

Does everyone remember this from 2010 pre-BTW?

Though she's had a close, hit-heavy relationship with RedOne, Gaga promised that she's updating her sound on the still-untitled album with a slate of new producers who she's declined to identify.

"I will never tell because as soon as I tell, everyone starts working with them," she said of her new album's production team. "So all I can say is that nobody knows who they are. They're all new."

:dies: She actually made a fair point. Look at Zedd; she revealed he's producing ages ago - now he's working with so many other basics. I wonder if we'll see Madeon or whatever he calls himself working with others in the near future.

Sleigh Mama

I hope one of the singles from ARTPOP sounds like this:

I love this old song (and now that I think of it, the male vocalist sounds like the voice from Gov Hooker)

This song's awesome! If some of the ARTPOP songs actually sound like a refined, modern version of the 90's dance music, I know I'll like it a LOT :)

I can hardly see an experimental album selling 5 to 6 million copies... In fact, I can hardly see it selling 1 million copies even. It's all about ARTPOP volume 1.

Experimental sh*t is like an album constitued of : Black Jesus Amen Fashion | Fashion of His Love | Bad Kids | The Queen .... I can hardly see an experimental album charting tbh...

She'll probably have tracks like Cake in this one, along with that "complextro" track she was talking about. The songs you listed are generally terrible songs anyway. Have faith.

BROSEIDON

Since everyone is talking sales I'll throw in my thoughts, I think it'll be something like this

ARTPOP Vol. 1.

US: 2.7 million

WW: 8.2 million

ARTPOP Vol 2.

US: 1.6 million

WW: 5.3 million

I do think APV1 will be more successful than BTW due to her saying that it is commercial, but I don't think it'll be that much more successful. And looking at the sales for BTW I expect sales for the experimental sounding APV2 to be significantly lower.

Interesting. Talk about a trend-setter in the industry. :fan:
