Just Dance was released in April 2008 and was therefore eligible for the Grammy period ending September 30, 2008. The Fame was released on October 28, 2008, therefore making it eligible for the Grammy period ending September 30, 2009.

Poker Face is the only one that doesn't really make much sense, but I'm guessing Gaga's team did some schmoozing or found a loophole or something to get it nominated for the 2009 Grammy year, because technically it was released September 23, 2008, which would be 7 days before the 2008 deadline. But then again, I don't think it's release date in the U.S. has ever been clarified - it was dropped after Just Dance hit #1 and instantly took off.

Poker Face only became huge in 2009 so that would explain it. They wouldn't nominated a song for record and song of the year in 2009 when it had barely sold 50k copies. It was a sleeper hit.

No, they wouldn't have, but if it was released in 2008, they wouldn't have been able to nominate it in 2009. So I'm guessing Interscope fudged the U.S. release date to make it eligible for 2009. And it probably helped that she was ineligible for Best New Artist,

Did you just say "the 31st of September"?

And yes... whatever is released between October 1st, 2012 & September 30th, 2013, is 2014 Grammy eligible.

September 31st doesn't exist, but Gaga and JT would be going head to head.. she'd get destroyed tbh, no #1 album

Eden is my personal favorite on the album!

But back on topic: I really feel as though there is no possible way Gaga wouldn't perform at the VMA's.
