The b---h is sooo sick of Poker Face being her signature song and she wants to top it with another more iconic song.

Oh, so that is why she performed it every night on her most recent tour which was not meant to promote The Fame. I know people who go to concerts want to hear the greatest hits, but, if she truly were sick of that song, then she would not sing it as often as she does.

I also disagree with the idea that Born This Way was not meant to be successful. Most fans only say that because they are still pressed in some way about how ADELE slayed everybody with ease. Born This Way was definitely meant to be successful. "Fashion Of His Love" was meant to sound like "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)." Hence, Gaga called attention to how, as a child, she was inspired by Whitney Houston. That shout-out also had to do with Whitney Houston's influence on her as a singer in general, and the intro of "Bad Kids" was taken from "They Don't Care About Us."

In Born This Way, Gaga incorporated sounds that were successful in the past, hoping that, by doing so, her album would be successful in the present. Gaga wanted to make an album for the fans, and she also wanted to make that album that was going to be big. Otherwise, she would not have referred to it as the album of the decade. Unfortunately to Grammy standards, it was not even the album of the year to be honest. It is alright to wish Gaga success, but let us not make this same excuse if ARTPOP is not as big as we want it to be.

ARTPOP can be successful if Gaga chooses to be more innovative as an artist. Gaga has been inspired by so many people in her life. She just has to be more careful to avoid making those inspirations too obvious this time around. If the album sounds like a mash-up of the eighties and the nineties, then nobody is going to go for it. I doubt she will make that mistake again, but if she does, then let us not say that it was due to the fact that Gaga does not care about money or success.

See I don't see it as a mistake, because I don't think Gaga ever intends to create music to chart well.  I just thinks she creates what she is inspired to create at the time.  She wanted to make an epic dance/rock anthem album, and I think she succeeded.  So I don't think she made any mistakes while creating it.  How can she have when it was intended.

If Born This Way flopped so hard after selling millions of copies worldwide and after having nominated for Album of the Year then I just don't know what's the real meaning of success for some of you.

PS: Move on. ARTPOP is coming.

I guess he didn't mean to say that BTW flopped, but BTW didn't reach the expectations talking of album/singles sales.

Lady Gaga hates Poker Face, it's very obvious by her performances during BTWB lol

I don't think she hates it. She's just tired of performing it. For example, I'm sure that Carly Rae Jepsen is tremendously bored of performing Call Me Maybe. The same happens to Rihanna with Umbrella.

She should've remixed Poker Face for the BTWBall, so it would have been slightly different.

Agreed.  It's sold 8 million albums worldwide.  Thats huge for an album today.  Few artists today achieve that.

You've completely missed the point of the album, and that's a shame.

It uses "sounds of the past" because those are the sounds that she heard as a child, that influenced her to become the person she is today.

Does this really look like the cover of an album that's goal is big sales?

The album was one big statement. Everyone gets so lost on this site in the world of crunching numbers, sales, charts, business strategy. "General Public", etc. etc.

It's so f*cking boring and I'm tired of hearing about it. How miserable do you people have to be to fill your minds with that useless crap?

I hope to hear some Elton Johnesque piano solo's on ARTPOP.  I'm not sure how likely that really is, but a D!VA can hope right?

Right because when making an album an artist's goal isn't to sell big lol. People like you tend to forget that this is a JOB for gaga as well. She isn't making music just for fun, she's making music because its apart of her contract with Interscope and you would be completely delusional if you thought that the ONLY reason Gaga made Born This Way was for her fans. And some of us here want careers in the music industry. Like me, that's why I'm so fascinated by her incredible team and business drive. There's wayyy more to being an artist than making music. Sorry not sorry.
