One of the main problems with BTW album, IMHO, was that she forgot the older fans who took notice of her and supported when she first broke. BTW was catered more towards teenagers and their problems, which alientated a lot of her original fans......

BTW showed her talent more than the fame/monster did though.

I had more fun listening to the Fame...its was the eqaul mix of ideas, fun AND performance together that was the winning formula. Sometimes if you try too hard to channnel just song writing talents and discuss sensitive subjects, it can backfire.

Still wish she would of gaven us the album name in like December for a xmas present, not august, when she will perform this august after a whole year of "talking" about it.

i really dont see the big deal about the whole "telling us the title a year before" honestly. it wouldnt make that much of a difference regardless, and the time she announced it im pretty sure she thought itd be out before spring, but then her injury etc.

She goes through stages of talking about it for a whole week then not talk about it for a whole month. Make up your mind woman! And i feel like fans were thinking oh she announced it in August, she must have some of it ready now, and it will be finished soon. The way she talked about it made it seem like she is confident and ready to put it out asap. At least that is what i thought, i guess :flop:

i dont think it alienated her older fans, i just think her older fans didnt wanna deal with issues that, in the big picture, affect their rights and self confidence as well. it was represented in a joyous, youthful way, BUT the same base issue affects older fans as well, just in a slightly different way. having such a liberated and joyous album was seen as pandering to a group of older fans/lgbt members who feel they need to be serious and turmoiled in their fight for equality, BUT WAIT people complain that born this way was too serious.

so all in all, people's criticisms for btw are quite scattered and contradictory....

yeah true, she probably though itd be out before spring 2013 but then things didnt go that way. but i think were gonna be thankful she got more time before its release, because she has more time to write and develop it.

Yeah then again if she released it like in March or April, it would sound i guess the word is unfinished, like Gaga told the mods, she needed to go in the professional studio and perfect everything.

i know. and i cant help but feel like if it came out now, people would be less harsh on it since everyone is going the whole socially aware lgbt support records, not that theres anything wrong with that, but i cant help but feel like gaga was ahead of her time and was really brave to put out btw, no matter how much flack she took. in the end it payed off in many ways. i really dont think mackelmore's same love could have been a number 1 without born this way, a song that unapolagetically uses the word "transgender" in it, going number 1 first.

It is definitely a special record that will get more recognition when it ages.

On that note, hoping she tweets on BTW's second anniversary!
