I refuse to believe that Burqa is the lead single for 3 reasons: 1) the mystery around the lead single makes me believe we don't know it's name yet; 2) I think Gaga probably knows already that religious stuff is harder to sell; 3) I remember, before Born This Way, how she talked a lot about Hair and how it was many people's favorite song off the album. It didn't even become a single. The same may be happening to Burqa. Anyway, I also think that, religious or not, in the end everything comes down to the music itself. If the song is good and catchy, people will buy it. And please, don't tell me Judas is the best song off BTW. I like it, and I think it's catchy, but most of my friends / family didn't like it because it's too noisy and overproduced. I don't understand why everyone's mad/sad. Plus no one wants to be up in the club singing about loving Judas even if it sounded like bad romance though it wouldve been popular if the production wasnt so obnoxious. its like an assault to the ear drums. i mean i like it and everything but i would've never thought it would be a popular single and not even just because of its religious references. to me people often blame its failure on the lyrical content but in all honesty i think a lot of it also has to do with the way it sounds. i think it can easily be perceived as annoying.
