I'm guessing it finally dawned on her that she needs a vacation here and there. We don't even know that for sure though. The album probably wasn't ever going to be released by now, even if she hadn't injured herself. The tour was supposed to finish in March, and she said that after the tour was finished she would take a small break and then work on the album during April. So it's not really off track.
