I was always under the impression Gaga REASONED it with her label? For instance, I heard ages ago the singles order for TFM was

Bad Romance

Telephone

Dance in the Dark

Monster

But Gaga substituted DITD for alejandro then decided not to release anymore singles because she had started writing Living on the Radio, Glitter & Grease and You & I for her next album?

Glitter & Grease was around way before.. It was a Team Love Child production.

Thank God it wasn't on BTW. Or any album, for that matter.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

I wish Yoü and I would've slayed harder tho It's my favorite Gaga song :flutter:

Such an underrated song/video :hor: Do people even know what legend produced it? :wtf:

I heard it was the other way around tho. She wanted MTN to be the lead single, but the label wanted BTW. She didn't want to release Judas, but the label did. She didn't want to release Yoü and I, but the label did

She said in early BTW interviews how she wanted to release seven/eight singles :awkney:

Yeah and I read somewhere that label chose You and I for the single in the states and then gave Gaga the option to choose the 4th single for the rest of the world. Wonder why Gaga went with that  (although I hate when artists release certain singles to certain territories)

Glitter & Grease wasn't written for Born This Way. It was written in the early days of The Fame production.

I think that announcing the single days (10 at most) before the single or releasing it out of the blue is the only think she must do...  I think that people get more tired of her announcing things and explanations rather than her music...  I think If people suddenly see new Gaga track on itunes will buy it and get more curious and excited than hearing about the single for weeks before the release..

I think so too.

Agreed. I like it for what it is (unreleased early material) but there is no way that it would have fit in with BTW at all... or really any of the albums tbh.

Pure Adrenaline

I also believe (despite the fact I skip the singles on Born This Way) that she deliberately picks her singles to define her career & that her new single will be completely different again.

Using the past singles as examples:-

Just Dance - made Gaga a pop star

Poker Face - made Gaga famous

Love Game - made Gaga s-xy

Beautiful, Dirty, Rich - made Gaga iconic

Eh, Eh - made Gaga cute

Paparazzi - made Gaga a superstar

Bad Romance - made Gaga viral

Alejandro - made Gaga catchy

Telephone - made Gaga dancey

Born This Way - made Gaga a role model

Judas - made Gaga controversial

The Edge of Glory - made Gaga inspirational

Yoü & I - made Gaga classic

Marry the Night - made Gaga fearless

The ARTPOP singles will/should make her everything she isn't -

-Hated

-Bitchy

-Spiritual

-Deluded

-Jazzy

-Envious

The possibilities are endless!

I think that she covers that with every single she put out   :emma:

Right now the only info I need from Gaga is if ARTPOP will be released this summer, this fall or in 2014, I just want to know how much I have to wait because it seems forever without a release date.

Just Dance- 4 months before The Fame

Born This Way- 3 months before Born This Way

So if she's releasing the album in June/July.. it would make sense for the single to be released in April/May.

You don't have to be finished with an album to release a first single..

And what if she has to promote the first single? Idk...

I think it's better for her and for the album/single to recover first, though I want the album so bad :noparty:
