I think it's just the thirst for ARTPOP tbh. I'd actually be surprised if Gaga ever won AOTY tbh. Unless she released something more "traditional", that's where the Grammys seem to be at. A pop album with electronic/dance influences has never won. The recipients are always traditional pop/country/rock etc. It would be amazing to see her be the one to break that trend. That being said, I genuinely believe that out of the 2012 nominees, Born This Way deserved the award - though 21 was always gonna take it. And maybe so, but she's been nominated for AOTY twice... that in itself is a MONUMENTAL accomplishment. She's got a fighting chance in the future, maybe when she's seen as a more established artist; who knows? If any Pop/Dance star is going to do it, it'll be Gaga. I don't get 21's hype, I know everyone here says that. But I LEGITIMATELY don't understand it - it's such a safe pop album. Blegh, she's a pleasant human being - and a good singer, but GOD I want her to pull a Norah Jones so damn badly. what WOAH. So it really is in the works!!! Good to know!
