I don't think so though. Weren't they more because she felt insecure/nervous and needed something to hold or whatever? I think she's more confident than ever now. They were a cute addition though. The Grammy deadline is probably such a tiny factor in their release plan, if it is one at all. I think October release would be good because then the second single could come right after (assuming the lead slays and hangs around for that long) just in time for all the good promo opportunities in November - the EMAs, AMAs, various X Factors, maybe the ARIAs would also be a good idea. And personally, I'm GLAD she's missing the deadline, she'll be facing off pretty stiff competition from Justin + Bruno. This way she's got a whole year to prove why her album deserves to be nominated for a Grammy/s. I'm predicting a November release date. That way, she can cash in on christmas sales. If you are seriously that threatened by other Grammy contenders you need to relax lol. There will ALWAYS be big albums competing for AOTY in every single year. If they based ARTPOP's release on this it would NEVER come out. If the academy thinks she deserves Grammys, they will award them to her. I think that's why she "allows herself" the black out, cause the whole creative process and the insight we would have had if she was making gagavisions or else, that will all be in the documentary. I'm thinking October too. It was reported that she was obsessed with Edith Piaf and that she was trying to buy her fingernails and the right to sample her songs. Whether that's true or not, she did use some of her songs on the latest Gagavisions and she sang Padam Padam in Paris. "Padam padam padam, you won't fool me again with your theater. Padam padam padam, you won't fool me again ratchet girl". Yeah so the 10th of October will mark the 50th anniversary of her death, quite a big event if ARTPOP does contain an hommage to her. (Just like BTW was released February 11 to mark McQueen's death. Wait till she says ARTPOP was actually written by Edith... ) And I agree with you about the Grammy deadline. I'm sure Gaga doesn't care about awards and charts when making ARTPOP, and she really shouldn't. You need to be in a free place when making art, without worry of how it's gonna perform. I'm kinda worried by how much you guys want to quantify her success with twitter followers, chart positions, youtube views and promo plans. Leave that to artists who needs it to be relevant. I think her sports themed Memorandum was clear about that. Making something new and good is all that matters and that's why she was okay with BTW not winning grammys. Adele won't get another grammies sweep. There's no way she's getting album of the year two years in a row (And there's no confirmation if she's releasing next year anyways) Katy? I'm not even going there... Cher... I love her, but I can't see her as competition... if "Grown Woman" is a sign of things to come, we're getting cheap Inna inspired Eurodance, the Grammies won't take it seriously. The poor woman hasn't had a hit since 1999... Eminem won't be any competition for the Pop categorise, just AOTY. I think our only valid concern is Beyoncé (unless she releases before October).
