I saw someone a few pages back (not sure what page number it's on now) about Gaga's father saying Gaga's new material wasn't coming out soon Interscope wouldn't be telling people the single is coming in soon or something like that. Announce a single that'll be released within 2 days or something will get you a lot of attention, everyone and their mother will report and talk about it and they can download it real soon I don't think she'll do that for a song nor the album, I actually love to have a precise date/time to look forward to in advance. (But again, I absolutely love this wait, so it might be just me) It gives time for the media to relate the info of when it will happen. That's what sucked about Bowie or JT's new record. As a non fan, I never knew they were releasing something before it was out and so I never got the time to be hyped or learn about what the record would be like/about. Gaga is very keen on making an entrance and I think the way of releasing ARTPOP and/or the first single will blow our minds. If she uses the app as a CANVAS to create a multimedia experience, I think that means the music is meant to be experienced as much as being heard. So it wouldn't surprise me if our first TASTE of ARTPOP will be via the app with the music video, or at least a kind of lyric video. I'm currently wondering what else might come with it if you think about your senses. She's mentionned the taste of the music quite a few times... Katy has proved that you can add a scent to the booklet, and with the iPad and touch screens it could also be a physical experience, there's choreo too... She said there would be more than the app and distinct to every format:"My vision for ARTPOP in general is also NOT EXCLUSIVE to the APP. That is just one element. THE ARTPOP PROJECT extends beyond the APP and there will be more surprises in the future NOT related to the APP" "it will also be released in the regular physical and digitals which will be unique and different to the app." However, I believe she will drop the first teaser app out of the blue, with a tweet like: "App in 5 hours" and then a countdown or something in the app. So that people can give the app experience a chance rather just download the song. It was already in the works 10 months ago so it would be a shame not to use the thirst to draw people into it. Then, as she finds digital music overpriced for just a mp3, the song would come directly with visuals, music video or whatever she wants. "I find digital music to be overpriced and this is a way to give you more." Anyway, I really see the release as being much more than direct music.
