I would love for us to send a gaga stan ambassador to talk with interscope and get the dish on wtf is going through their heads with these album strategies. I'd really like to understand how they rationalize the single selection, promotion (or lack therof), the media blackout, her silence and disappearance from her fans (who would kill for her), and this weird silence. I'd also like to know what kind of leash the label has her on; is this all them, all her, or a mix of both? I think its safe to say that we're all obsessed with and fiercely protective of her legacy, and the fact that I feel like some of these decisions are chipping at its base really bothers me. I know its easy to be a critic from the outside, but I just feel like she is GOLD and her work deserves better handling. You could promote the lead in festivals and TV shows, and then save the VMA's for the lead + second single debut performance. Just my opinion. I think the single is coming in late June. It get's me down when all the pessimistics gather and torture everyone by saying 'AUGUST-SEPTEMBER SINGLE CALLING IT NOW' i'm like ugh, just stahp. DJWS said that major stuff is happening in the next couple of months and your deluded to think he wasn't talking about Gaga. Not to mention this was after Gaga's injury. :) Yes. Second single debuted at VMA's. Appeal to the general public after all the fans already own the entire album. Thats good marketing. The first single will go #1 because Little Monsters will all rush to get it...same with the album. But the second single will be harder since Little Monsters will already own the song from the album. Unless of course she releases two singles prior to the album release. I won't get mad at her or anything, but yeah I do think that this silence isn't really a good thing. Maybe she has her own personal reasons, but as far as career goes I feel it's only doing harm. I've always said...release the lead a few months before the album...then exactly one week before the album drops release a second single (not a promo-single, but it does serve that as like a dual-purpose). I mean is it really that bad if She tweets: LADY GAGA TEA 8.24.13, ARTPOP 9.25.13 I feel like she doesn't know when she is going to release new music.
