SEANGT 5,196 Posted December 22, 2012 Share Posted December 22, 2012 I think the single will come a lot later than january, just because she probably won't release the full album before the tour is over, and you don't need a lot of promo time between the lead single and the album when everyone is waiting to hear your new song. I feel like only new artists should release singles way in advance of an album dropping. People just need to know she's back, and then she needs to drop the album IMO. She can afford to have 2 lead singles. It increases the charting position and promo. She could drop the lead in January, 2nd in April and the album a few weeks later. The whole point of a single release when you're an album artist is to get people to buy what they don't have. Judas was so unnecessary when she could have just waited to release Edge of Glory as the second single when she did. But she released Judas because of the whole leak thing. Gaga unintentionally released 3 singles before Born This Way. She planned for only 2 but, then TEOG happened and it was made a single about a week before the album release. She should pick a fun catchy track for the first single, then 3 months or so later release an epic song which is a lot better, then release the album. Also, I think the lead single should get it's radio premiere, iTunes release & music video release all on the same day tbh. It would smash. That's a really long gap..... All releasing the album after 1 song would do is hurt the singles chart success potential of all singles other than the lead. There's no point.
