Glamorous at face value, rotten beyond. Allows her to explore the theme in her way, but still present it in a commercial/easily accessible package. If anything, I think she'll lighten up with her next era. She wasn't necessarily "gothic" this era, but she was seen as a very dark/negative figure almost despite her positive message.
