You guys should have rather made "Lady Gaga's Career...How Long Will It Last?" instead of "Justin Bieber's Career...How Long Will It Last? "

GURL GOODBYE

I like Gaga best when she stands up for herself and isn't afraid to speak her mind. This whole kindness thing never works because no one believes in it. Online kindness was and always will be a flawed idea.

This.

I cannot at some of you comparing this to how Madonna was towards Gaga after BTW. Madonna spent over a year being pretty damn vile towards Gaga at every opportunity she had. Gaga made one comment which may or may not be related to something Miley posted.

Even if it's the case, is what she's saying bad? She's not saying "oh my god I can't believe Miley copied me what a reductive hoe", she's just acknowledging her impact, which she knows she has. If anything, she's probably happy about it. She's only been around since 2008 but has had more impact in that short time than lots of people have in their whole careers. That's nothing to shade about, its an achievement.

Was it timed and worded in the best way possible? No. In the grand scheme of thing, is it a big deal? No. It's in fact ridiculous that there's 15 pages of this thread.

hmmm, can you use your little crown thingy and stop this madness? whats the point of keeping this open? everyone will forget about it in a couple of weeks anyway

The result of your actions are what you should be held accountable for.

We have seen instances, such as the recent controversy involving Madonna using the "N" word, in which people have caused offense although their intention might be harmless.

I'm not saying Gaga is a horrible person or super shady and mean. I'm just saying that her post is shady and it is hypocritical coming from an artist that has been so harsh in condemning other fans for their harmless usernames and playfulness.

She can't be blocking users with usernames of "*insertartist*slays" and saying that she doesn't endorse any form of competition between artists one second while she makes shady posts about Miley implying that she is #1 and all the pop girls follow what she does the next.

I think the whole #OnlineKindness thing expects to much of people to be completely honest, and I wouldn't mind if she did away with it but she can't have both. It just seems a little hypocritical of her tbh and it is a little shady.

I don't think it is that big a deal but it's clearly a rather shady post and it is completely contrary to the message she has been bashing away at for the past few months, so I think it is fair to call her out on it.

I think she can definitely have both though. She was too radical with her ideas of Promote Online Kindness and she'll hopefully lighten up about this issue and how to proceed with it. I am seeing this as a sign of her changing her stance on it because clearly she's calmed down over the past couple of months and is not so sad anymore that she feels the need to attack the world claiming it's not kind enough. Tbqh this tweet shows that Gagz is probably on top of her game now.

And I completely disagree with the first statement you made. The result of your actions should no way determine who you are if the intention is not bad. Intention has to play a role as seen in court when the motive plays a heavy determining in your sentence. The outcomes are just a response of others and these emotional responses by others need to be looked at. About Madonna and the N word, did she intend it in a racist way-who knows? But in this instance Gaga did not even slightly mention anything about Miley, so it is much more possible that this tweet was not intended towards Miley than it being "shade" or whatever.

agreed with this user @Elizabeth please shut down this messy topic that is pointless.

Hope Miley doesn't take offense to this because Lord knows Miley will drag her to the pits if she is provoked.

Miley doesn't have the wit tbh.

oh gaga.

i thought that "if you critique somebody, you actually critique yourself?"

she should be the last to talk tbh

Exactly why I am glad Gaga is going against this philosophy because it was flawed to begin with or atleast the way she was going about it was flawed. I think she sees now that humor/shade without direct harm is acceptable and usernames like Katyslaysurfaves are okay. She was too radical with these ideas and hopefully she won't be so much anymore. The best way to deal with drama/negativity is to rise above it and cast it away to the pits of hell-remain unaffected, and I think Gagz is starting to realize that and hopefully she makes a better turn out of her depressive state.

No.

She still will get offended and b---h about it if the criticism is towards herself.

This tweet really disappointed me.

I can imagine interviewers pouncing at this issue (both at Gaga & Miley), much like they pounced at Gaga with the Madonna thing YEARS after it happened (she responded in an interview about it in 2013).

it's officially the biggest GGD meltdown of 2014  :applause:

I'd say the whole pop-music related communities meltdown (ATRL, Twitter and other fanbases)...

At the same time, I'm glad Gaga feels threatened by Miley's presence on the pop scene. She needs a competitor so that she can outdo herself and strive to be no1* again.

*I don't care about sales/GP opinion, I mean no1 in terms of entertainment and standards and TFM interludes and BR music videos instead of amateur tour posters and lazy choreo.
