Lady Gaga is a pop star. She is in the same league as Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Kesha, Rihanna etc. Her music sounds very similar to theirs. She uses many of the same producers they do, and her music is played on the same stations there’s are. The only reason she is famous is because in 2009 and 2010 she had some huge Top 40 hits. I don’t understand why she can’t go back to those days. She’s worth almost 200 million dollars so; she can stop the "money doesn’t matter to me" bull****. If she doesn’t get back to #1 on the charts or at least try to put out more commercially viable material than what is she really? Her sudden disdain for the charts is bull. Miley, Katy, whoever else can keep high views in 24 hours and faster to 100M - their content pales next to Lady Gaga for me. I completely agree. I'm not sure what people see in those videos, they are basic and simple. Theres nothing wrong with that, but Gaga's videos are a whole different level. Yes she is a Pop star, Yes her songs are played on the same radio as the others pop girls, But She doesn't need to follow the rules of the pop scene, Why do you have to put her in a Box, why? she's much more talented than these pop girls, getting #1s a la Katy perry won't write a legacy, she has to be true to herself, even if it means she's not on top anymore, to create something bigger than herslef, because trust me, when katy perry dies, nobody will remember how many #1 she had, nobody will remember the tacky videos she released, because she didn't do something bigger for the sake of art.. her footprints in this world can be easily erased, as for Gaga, even if she dies tomorrow, she'll be a legend Destiny is for losers.
