Immunosuppressives will do that if they're taken to prevent flares of Lupus, Gaga said in 2010 she tested border-line positive for the disease, and there's a chance that it progressed since that diagnosis. It can cause increased incidences of bone fractures (Gaga's hip) and comes in flares/recurrences, so that could be why Gaga might need to take time away from the spotlight every now and then. Again it's speculation on my part. I'm not an MD, I don't know Gaga and for all I know she might have injected nutella into her face!
