Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late will debut at #1 on the HITS Album and SPS charts next week, spoiling what looked less than 24 hours ago like a slam dunk for the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrackâ€â€but the marketshare goes to the same place, so Republic can’t complain. What’s more, the surprise mixtape could see first-weekend sales of 500k. Strangely, as of 8am PT, the album has yet to appear on the iTunes chart. But there’s a precedent: It took Beyoncé’s 2013 surprise release several hours before landing at #1. Our numbers gnomes are trying to determine whether If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late will be the best-selling or highest-debuting mixtape ever. For the record, Drake's first charting recording a re-release of a mixtape six years ago. Not shading, just being real. Lol well I wouldn't blame ha tbh .... but Drake has it's hip/jop community which was also one of the bigger parts of why Beyonce performed so well in the beginning. Rap artists like Drake, Eminem etc which have big and devoted fans will always have the support for the 1st week sales and with Taylor she is just market genius who basically picked the right time at the right moment and jump on that wwave and ever since hasn't stop riding it .... while our poor sis Gags used to have that big of support back in the day but the gay community which is the bigger part of the fans that follow Gaga most of them just jumped onto the next 'hot' female with good hair.
