Well at first I thought it would be a good idea for her to release like 3 or 4 singles before the actual albums because her singles are her strong side and they sell the album, but now when you look at it, 45S is a moderate hit and still selling decently, BBHMM is not going anywhere tbh, and AO is like doomed.. So idk, jer team needs to figure something out.

She should just release the album, and hurry the next era.

It could really hurt her. I say release the album like very very soon and then quickly release the best song off the album as the next single, forget all the messes behind it and focus on that song. Radio support, nice video, performances etc..

I think Rihanna just has the pop star version of "senioritis" and is tired of doing it all. At least that's what I'm getting from her release style of music this cycle.

How is Jason Derulo still successful? I srsly thought he'd be one of those 2010/2011 washed up stars like Taio Cruz but he's still going strong :deadbanana:

Didnt he have one really floppy album after his initial success and then he bounced back as a global hit maker

His second album didn't do well. But his first and third albums did pretty well. His fourth album is coming out in 2 months

Nah #29 on pop is a really tragic position. Enough stations will give it a chance for a higher position

Maybe....maybe not. If radio stations start getting back negative input from individual surveys, they will drop it like a rock.

how much did lips are moving sell?

Title / Artist / RTD sales (as of week ending)
All About That Bass - Meghan Trainor - 5,055,935 (4/5/15)
Lips Are Movin - Meghan Trainor - 2,165,600 (4/5/15)
Dear Future Husband - Meghan Trainor - 626,550 (4/12/15)

Title (2015) - Meghan Trainor - 554,083 (HDD+NM) (4/12/15)

Both 'Title' and LAM are currently within the top 10 best-selling US albums and digital songs this 2015 so far. More bragging rights for Meghan's fans, 'Title' is only 1 of the 7 albums this year to sell 500,000 units or more. Plus, it's only 1 of the 4 albums selling 500k+ this year with at least one digital song selling 1M+ this year as well. Talk about an album AND digital song seller.

And if DFH tops 1M, 'Title' will join the most recently released (2013-present) mainstream studio albums with 3 or more platinum singles:

Title (Year of Release) / Artist / 1M+ selling singles

Bangerz (2013) - Miley Cyrus - 3
Prism (2013) - Katy Perry - 3
The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (2013) - Eminem - 3
My Everything (2014) - Ariana Grande - 3
V (2014) - Maroon 5 - 3
1989 (2014) - Taylor Swift - 3

Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour' (2014) shall join this list too within a month at the most as his re-released single 'Lay Me Down' is quickly nearing to 1M in digital sales.

But his album sales are really bad right?

He is smashing with his singles tho..

He does deliver really good music, and he can somehow tap into what is going to be popular

I think he's really smart somewhere, or has a really good team and that's why he can maintain his success

Speaking of Rihanna, I'm a huge fan of her and yet I'm probably the least worried with this album's future - despite all of these mediocre to bad initial sales of its singles. Heck, even if the album won't be able to hit platinum (if ever it'll be released), I'll still feel assured for her as someone who loves both her music and the chart triumphs she has achieved in almost over a decade. Most possibly because her place among the all-time most successful is pretty much secured anyway for me to still worry about her succeeding releases when it comes to their chart peaks and sales (same goes with the likes of Madonna, Mariah Carey, and Paul McCartney), unlike her contemporaries whose commercial success I believe haven't reached their maximum potential yet.

But that's just me since others would still wish for her to get more #1s and overall hits than what she already has. But for an artist like her who already got the most successful chart reign of the past 10 years, wanting more for her is becoming less and less. I mean a résumé filled with chart-topping singles in a span of almost 9 consecutive years is something hard to replicate. And the last solo act who experienced a hot streak like that was Mariah Carey with 11 years of consistently producing a chart-topper on the Hot 100 until 2 albums flopped and then she made the biggest comeback one could think of and pulled 3 more #1 hits.
