Whispering 18,865
if chandelier had more airplay it would have outsold applause impact is not measured with chart positions and airplay more people know chandelier it crossed 500 million mark and applause is barely at 200 m chandelier had more impact everywhere /discussion I'm not sure where you live, but in the US Applause was everywhere and more people are familiar with it, than they are with Chandelier. The Kia commercial was shown several times a night during popular shows. The song was used during half times at major sporting events, by high school, college and professional teams. Sports dance and cheer teams used it for routines and it was used for half time shows, as well. You could hear it at bars on the weekends. I personally heard Applause during halftime at an NCAA Football game and during NCAA Basketball games, including the Final Four tournament. I also heard it at high school games and they still play it at the gym during classes. Applause had impact. Impact is not measured by what a small selection of pop girl fans are talking about at places like GGD or ATRL. If I went by those two sources, I would think that AB and Marina are the most known artists in the world, and nothing could be further from the truth! SharGaga 2,906
Can y'all call it a day and agree to disagree? I'm curious as to how much of a boost C2C will get from the GRAMMY'S. Hope they win a grammy too.

And yes, it is your personal opinion and observation, one that is formed by what boards you spend time on and who you talk with on social media, etc. There is a world out there that doesn't concern themselves with all these diva girls, that people are obssessed with here. The real world has no idea who half the artists are here that people believe are well- known and famous. The rest of the U.S. is talking non stop about "the worst play to ever be called in a football game", and not about the half-time show from the Super Bowl. The majority of viewers forgot who did the halftime show by the time the second half started. GGD, ATRL and places such as that are not accurate reflections of what is happening in the real world! Whispering 18,865
im from europe and no it's not formed by that it's formed with the real world actually people actually talked about chandelier So your circle of friends in Europe talked about Chandelier? That's great, but doesn't have anything to do with the impact or familiarity of Applause in the US (and Canada as others mentioned), which is what the comments have said all along. Jjang 2,262
*I spend my summers in the US. *I remember Applause being played every 10 - 15 minutes in August of 2013, it made somewhat of an impact. *However, i do think Chandelier made a bigger impact on the GP. Bye 3,947
Look, out of the States it's obvious that Chandelier had more impact. But in the US and Canada it is incorrect to say Chandelier had more impact than Applause. So I don't know why you're insisiting on downplaying Applause's impact when they were referring to the US.
