Klou 2,414
What kind of "buzz single" gets a radio deal, 50M Al in a week, a music video, a Grammy performance and 2 features of 2 big artists? I think Rihanna's team knew it was a risk and wanted to see the reaction to the song before declaring it the lead single. They probably had a plan to release something else as a lead if the reaction was not positive.
Bad Monster Kid 13,140
34 performers for the Grammys announced so far. Ed and Kanye will both perform twice too What? Why? I hope they give enough time to Gaga and Tony so she can do a solo and duet.

Whispering 18,865
If she launches the album just after the Grammy Awards it would make sense ^^ And honestly after this performance I'm pretty sure she'll hit #1... I think Madonna is not a huge threat for her... 45S has jumped on Itunes after the release of the video... So I guess a performance is probably going to help it a lot :) It's not a buzz single. The song was officially set to all radio formats (that make sense) with a specific add date. The "buzz single" is an excuse fans are pulling out, in case this song doesn't end up doing well. I'm sure it will end up doing well enough, as it is a debut single from Rihanna with two big names on it. Whether it wears well on the radio long term enough to be a hit like some of her other singles, remains to be seen.

Klou 2,414
Still there is fourfive6 steps to #1 The song would need to increase in sales by nearly 300% and have over 200M AI for it to go #1.

She and Tony will probably do a shortened version of a couple of their duets from the album. Note: The past two years, there were 20 performances by 44 artists. Yanko 9,860
Just outside the top 10, Rihanna, West and McCartney blast 54-15 with "FourFiveSeconds." Following its first full week of availability, the fab three's track vaults 19-4 on Digital Songs with a 160 percent increase to 138,000 downloads sold, good for the Hot 100's top Digital Gainer award. On Radio Songs, the collab bounds in at No. 36 (35 million in audience, up 47 percent). With the song's official video released Tuesday, streaming should further its fortunes on the Hot 100 released next week.
