Whispering

A Spotify spokesperson told TIME that the total payout for Swift’s streaming over the past 12 months globally was $2 million.

And Scott Borchetta said that those numbers weren't for domestic streams. (meaning in the US) That number was $496,044 over the last twelve months. Taylor didn't pull her music globally from Spotify, just in the US.

She made that much by selling 50,000 albums.

Fiona Apple

in usa yes

In US it could (still hard though),worldwide not even close. She promoted a lot herself this year but she still lost a lot of fans and most people don't take her seriously at all anymore.

Wait.

Beyonce didn't release 7/11 on iTunes?

Such a shame, it has almost 7M views on Youtube in less than 24 hours. It would have probably charted inside top 30 of BBHot100 if it was on iTunes.

i don't understand. the sales posted in the OP differ from the us total digital sales for RIAA's website

they list Katy Perry as 72 million sales while the OP says 63 million

and T Swift at 66 million while the OP says 75 million.

the rihanna numbers are also off.

Certifications =/= actual sales. RIAA has included stream equivalents into their certification programs, hence KP has shot up to 72M (Firework alone was certified for 9x platinum even though its sales has yet to cross 7 million). And they're not updated for everyone (e.g. Gaga).

Also, certifications are up for applications (i.e. one has to apply before it gets certified). Getting the most updated certifications depends on the willingness of the labels/artists to actually apply.
