That's not what you did though: Rihanna isnt that an album seller too but still here in the game for 10yrs already Then you went on to list all of her albums, so you were looking at her entire career. Rihanna IS an album seller, especially when compared to Ariana. Once again, ...Rihanna's albums with some significant mainstream hits (like Ariana has had) ...started somewhat with her second major album release and the third album is what gave her singles that became huge hits. Starting with her second album, Rihanna has had a platinum album with every release. Anytime you sell platinum 6x in a row, you are a steady album seller. Ariana isn't close to that with her last album or this current one. Also, remember when looking at debut albums of Rihanna and Ariana, that you are comparing a true debut album (with no hit single) with a debut album from a Nickelodeon princess, with a built-in automatic fan base. Except for Rihanna's debut album, when no one knew who in the world she was, every one of her albums has gone platinum. Rihanna is a singles and album seller. Ariana is not. Most artists sell more albums, as they have more hits coming from their album. Despite having 4 top 10s and having the maximum amount of exposure and promotion, Ariana is not doing that...for some reason. You are more than free to believe that Ariana "owned 2014". I just simply don't agree. Taylor, Sam Smith, Iggy, Maroon 5 and even Pharrell have had bigger eras with big hits AND higher album numbers. I stated Rihannas entire discography just to point out that she isnt that selling album that much compared to her contemporaries. Fine Rihanna is an album seller but not a great album seller and that is how I see it. You can have your standards, ill have mine. Also if you can see her 1st two eras, she didnt do that great yet she managed to have more greater eras. So why Ariana cant? You are judging too early. Also ME isnt tanking yet. It is still selling and holiday sales are yet to come. How can u tell it is not goin to hit platinum? What if it hits platinum next year or next decade, will you eat your words? Also I believe Ariana can stay in the long run even if her albums arent platinum yet. I believe on her. No one can prove if she cant or can do that. If you think she cant then thats ur opinion.
