Kermit the frog 1,921
Can they stop whining about it and just accept it as a natural thing? There's nothing bad about music sales decline, those artists WON'T STARVE.
7Days 7
No more platinum albums then. ARTPOP ha curse.
Envi 765
No because sales are getting more frontloaded. Both TS's Red and Eminem's last album debuted higher than their previous, but didn't match their total sales. There will be more like BTW that debut over 1 million but never make 3 million total sales. that's why "striking while the iron is hot" works. artist should do massive promo during first week where the album hype is huge ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫

Brandon 457
I think the quality of music went down. Mainstream music is quite dead and not the best right now. I still think it is possible to go platinum if you put quality material out (JT, Adele, 1989).
Cersei 56
I honestly think Adele will debut well above 1m. Im expecting a 3m debut week purely based off hype. If her lead single is as iconic as RITD then the possibilities are endless for her. slow down
DrewStevens 5,249
Adele is our savior. Her album is going to save this basic a$$ world. + I think Eminem's upcoming album will get a Platinum certification too.
Gagaloo911 12,959
I think that 1 million opening week is very unlikely for most artists. Only reason Taylor is able to achieve it is cause her fanbase that actually buys her music, and all the gimmicks and promo tactics her and her management used that made it happen. So, maybe with a f*ckton of promo and gimmicks it can be achieved, but only for artists whose fans will go out and buy the album. Not to mention 1989 isn't even on Spotify or able to be streamed so that certainly helped, just like it did for Bey. If more artists start following these tactics and not allow their album to stream till after its release, we may see more sales of albums, at least the first week with big names. In other words, Gaga take notes
