stackhouse 3
For someone who studied the art of fame she seems clueless about how record labels are there to make money She knows more about it than any of us. She just doesn't like it.
teo 609
Why are you all saying she can do anything without a label. She just needs a great team, that's all the label is for, apart from getting a cut from her sales. She can still be huge without them. Look at Macklemore, he's one of the biggest acts of last year and he's independent(right?).

Celina 118
I wonder how fans would feel if Gaga told us to quit moaning about our problems because it makes it hard for her to enjoy the money we spend on her, or something of the sort. FFS she always listens to the countless stories & offers advice and support. The least we can do is treat her like a human being. autumnmycat 0
There's another artist I really like who got trapped in a contract she didn't want with an American label. Specifically, Utada Hikaru (gigantic in Japan) had a two-album contract she wanted to cancel with Island Def Jam after the first album because she wasn't doing well here in the states and couldn't be bothered. So she released a pretty lazy/terrible second album that she admitted openly she put very little effort into, made one music video, gave five performances, and left IDJ in the dust. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Gaga started keeping a looser schedule for the next couple of years, if the label is driving her this nuts. I don't think she'll do the bare minimum like Utada did, but who could blame her for at least trying to stick it to the label if what we all think they've done is true? Excuse me honey but This Is The One was flawless so you should probably stop
Arturo 40,746
Her label just wants her to be successful. Yes, it's so they can get money, but in turn, she's successful. I do not know what's going on specifically, so I can't really judge, but I just don't see the reason why she should be so hostile towards her label. They just want what's best for this era. Chromatislaps 34,840
Amazing! Kinda Karel Appel but way darker! It reminded me more of Jeroen Bosch
scrappy 302
I guess we should make a 'free gaga' petition like Ke$ha's fans did. :worried:

Definitely not there just paying salaries.
NewYorkCity 10,536
She's always said she happy just sitting down on a piano and singing. All the bling is extra. She just loves the music not the bling. It's the fans that want everything else and although she clearly enjoys them they're not worth the label's dictatorship tbh. she shouldn't have signed to a label in the first place then. "I wanna be a star" She has said that so many times too. I want the best for her, don't get me wrong. And I really think that she wants to make art and make a difference, but you need some projection to be able to do that. She has too look at the big picture. There might be problems, she might not be allowed to release the song she wants as a single, or make that scene for a video... but in the end, she'll have a power to make a lot of other things, to speak in front of 50.000 people in a stadium about art, and sing, and let the whole world know your music and sing along it... and in the long term, she'll have power enought to make other things. That's how it works, it is hard, yeah. If this is because they didn't let her put some songs in the album... if she's here because the music and not the bling, why don't just upload them on youtube? If the label don't think those songs are going to make any benefit, what's the problem? Just release them apart from the album... I'm just trying to understand whats going on. I want her to be happy and enjoy these moments, because she dreserves everything  Edited January 5, 2014 by NewYorkCity
