Katy would probably be even more sure to win this year, if only pop musicians could vote in pop category.

 

This year there’s been a lot of chatter around whether Macklemore and Ryan Lewis deserve a Grammy for Best Rap Album. Because of their tremendous commercial success and media exposure there’s a good chance they will win, despite the fact that most hip-hop experts would prefer to see the award go to Kanye West, Jay-Z, or Kendrick Lamar.

 

 

Too bad hip hop heads. People in other genres are going to send a message about homophobia in rap, rather than giving all the awards to Kendrick (who is afraid to work with Gaga) or Kanye (who pisses people off).

First off don't make things up. We don't know what happened with Kendrick. And the Grammys honor music not the artist's personality. In both Best Rap Song & Best Rap Collab every other nomination>Thrift Shop and in Best Rap Album, Yeezus, MC..Holy Grail and Good Kid m.a.a.d City piss on The Heist.

I had an instructor at school who got to vote for nominations. He said we could fill it out for him if we wanted, because he didn't really know most of the acts on it.

This is why artists like Tori Amos, Bjork, PJ Harvey and Kate Bush have never won a Grammy throughout the whole of their careers.

It's political, both play a role. I doubt if Kanye will be getting many votes from country musicians or people over 50.
