Levine 22,656
Another CATASTROPHIC day for pop music. Thank you Ariana, Nicki, Katy, Miley, Jesse J and so on. I guess the person who years ago said "Pop music will never be low brow" couldn't predict the future.
ryhanna 3,507
Hmm… Nicki's not a nanny. She doesn't target herself towards children, and it's not her fault if kids watch or listen to her content. If you're worried about kids being exposed to s-x too early, then I think that's kind of just an issue for parents to deal with, not Hollywood. It'd be different if it were like a Kids Bop song to that video, but it's Nicki Minaj. It's not her job to shield children from her content.
Phoenix 17,395
We had s-xual music videos since forever. I'm glad she broke that record! 💎

LoveandMagic 1,731
I didn't really see anything controversial about what Nicki or Miley has done. To me, controversy would to have a music video mocking a recent tragedy (or exploiting it), having a music video murdering a politician, blowing up a school (with kids in it), torturing puppies, etc. T&A has been around for a long time. Nothing Nicki or Miley has shown can not be found in many contemporary videos. As well as grinding/twerking/humping/what have you. And no, I'm not saying it's tasteful, but I certainly don't know why some would consider it shocking. Nicki's video did well probably for several reasons. Fans of hers that are excited and thrilled with the latest release, guys (or gals) who think she is smoking hot and are obsessed with dat booty, people who found it amusing in its silliness (like myself, it seems Nicki was poking fun at her own image), or people that may have just liked the song or were curious. Myself, I'm actually surprised it is SO huge, but Nicki is a superstar and people are going to be excited or curious to see what she puts out. The more people talk about it, the more views. Seems par the course for the GP. Just my opinion, of course. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

Would grown-ups call themselves barbz? lol. It's clear that her fans are young teen girls.. Nicki's style is all childish and stupid to make teens like her.. It's similar to Katy Perry and her candy look and videos such as Birthday.. It's just for children.

Rat Boy 41,623
NO FUN ALLOWED IN POP MUSIC. POP MUSIC MUST BE SERIOUS AND DEAL WITH WORLDLY ISSUES. GAGA WOULD NEVER USE SEX TO PROMOTE HER MUSIC. NEVER. "Rat Boy's a nasty, trashy, sleazy, classless"- River

NEVER. Yeah, now it's called "having fun" Nicki did that video because she wanted to have fun. Right! And Gaga never used an explicit song about DICKS and asses and never used and explicit video that is close to a **** movie, yes. She never did that. Poor Madonna. Years and years to try to make pop music something important, destroyed by this pathetic generation of brainless twinks and useless popstars.

She doesn't market herself to children the way that Katy does. I haven't seen a video like Roar or Dark Horse that's aimed at pre-teens from Nicki. She's always been s-xual, and s-xual stuff is marketed to older teens and young adults.
Mr Josh 3
Oh come on the kids will be fine... Kids aside, now if you ask me there's a fine line between s-xy and trashy and Anaconda is deep into the trashy region.
Feynman 1
It obviously racked up so much views because it was an impeccably directed music video with amazing cinematography and Anaconda is a masterpiece :koons: :koons: :koons:
