ItsTommyBitch 12,640 Posted May 21, 2014 Share Posted May 21, 2014 Its really sweet and unexpected, the lyrics are uplifting and even though the chorus is as repetitive as can be it just exudes that feeling of happiness and forgiveness and that sense of "we are still in this together" at the end of the day. Its really good :) Not sure how it will do on iTunes/Billboard, but i think decent just because of her fan base -- maybe #1 for a few hours and peak in top 20 first week. I know shes not a "singer", but i honestly LOVE her voice when she sings. She just has a gorgeous voice no matter what she does, lol. Also, i cant with these royals comparisons...? The drum beat is very basic but calming, its not a deep bass synth or anything and it doesnt even start with her singing like Royals does immediately. Also different rhythm + instrumentation. There also very loud claps in the repeated beat of Royals... not to mention OBVIOUS vocal differences and different levels of reverb + harmonizing in royals throughout the whole song... Its not super smash hit material probably, but i really love it for what it is -- the chorus is just Happy and sounds like sunshine. The energy sort of stays flat through the whole song and the song never really goes anywhere. It really does have a great chance of being a hit. I don't know. I'm sort of neutral. I do love that her versatility with her voice. She's the rapper and then she's also like the featured singer for the chorus. It sounds like two different people and it's so cool that she can do that. i agree. LAN is my favorite song shes released in this era so far. since then my interest has died down a bit. but im still a bit interested in how the album turns out...
