SISTERV 3,887 Posted January 3, 2014 Share Posted January 3, 2014 The Fame........leave the same - this is really what the album centers around the most and was perfectly fitting for its time The Fame Monster..........."The Fear" -although Gaga talks about how fame can ruin you, I feel like this album talks about fears anyone can experience, really. It doesn't connect to The Fame if or the motif of fame. It only connects to the fame because it contrasts good things that happen to you and talks about your fears. This album is extremely themed around personal FEAR. Born This Way.........leave the same -it is an iconic term used in the LGBT community and represents the themes of the album perfectly. Marry the Night is a close second but Born This Way is more polarizing and honest to the emotion of the album. ARTPOP..........."VENUS" -This one I feel the strongest about the name change. I am surprised that no one has picked up on the fact that this album really isn't ARTPOP in the sense that themes itself entirely around art applied to pop culture. There aren't a lot of modern cultural references at all. The album's ACTUAL biggest and consistent theme is FEMINISM. Gaga seems to be playing with Boticelli's 'Birth of Venus' the most this era, and it works much better as a title track. Almost every song on this album has a strong sentiment of female empowerment, s-xual identity, and commentary on gender roles. "VENUS" makes far more sense than ARTPOP.
