craig 680
how about liking them as people, friends, as confidants, as regular members of society..... You still like them for certain qualities, and form generalizations. It seems some gay are so uptight about being seen in feminine terms, they can't even take it as a compliment from a girl. What's the great value in being seen as manly by women, if you don't have a romantic interest in them? I doubt Britney would be offended if a guy said she was funny and adorable. Nor would most women.
duskball 498
people always find something to get mad at. if she said ugh gays are gross all hell would break loose. she calls them cute and adorable same thing.
MahoganySnitch 67
She didn't mean it bad, but she's talking about gay people like pets or accessories
PoshLife 17,002
She didn't mean it bad, but she's talking about gay people like pets or accessories This. I mean to be completely honest it doesn't surprise me that all the 16 year old gay twinks on here who fit her stereotypical definition of gay men perfectly aren't offended, since it's the only homos-xuality they know. But I'm neither hilarious nor adorable and a lot of gay men wouldn't appreciate this. It wasn't offensive, it was just a bit patronizing. She didn't mean to be, though. mostro 0
britney thinks her gay stylists are adorable? that's just fine. I'm glad a public figure is speaking positively of gay people. I get that it can be condescending on the grand scale, but I've heard this language before and never deemed it problematic enough for a call out so
Deacon 5
Britney doesn't mean any harm... she's not the best with words. I can't even imagine the massacre if Gaga had said anything like this, though.
tristessa 0
Yeah, how dare she discriminate against unfunny gays in her arrogant description. Like others have said, I'm sure she meant no harm, and she's not the first to claim that gay people are always so "funny and cute" or whatever. But I see where people are getting put off by it. It might sound like she's referring to them as like a pet or even being a bit condescending.... but she's not! No problems here, Britney.

Bowie 4
She meant well, but it came off as a little patronising... but Gaga can be just as bad from time to time. Having said she OBVIOUSLY didn't mean any harm. :trootea:
TheOriginalOne 10,885
Sure what she said could probably offend, but she meant no harm. And I'd rather be seen as adorable than an abomination.

HeyItsKyKy 9
It's Britney, she never means to offend. She's just not particularly articulate. And let's face it, the type of gays that would be around Britney are more often than not saying something like "Yaaaaas, Britney you look so good! GODNEY YOU'RE THE QUEEN OF POP!". I literally had a friend who stanned for Britney that much irl.
