Britney is still a very young pop star compared to the people who have residencies in Vegas. Elton John, Celine Dion, Shania Twain etc. Their fan bases are a lot older & most of them probably have steady jobs. So they can afford to fly from anywhere from around the world to see them. Britney's fanbase is still comparatively younger, and most probably don't even have steady jobs to be able to fly to Vegas and go see her, while also paying for hotel etc. So when you put things into a broader perspective, it is pretty remarkable that she is selling out shows like that. She is not really a "Legend" at this point, so it's not like the much older generation will be supporting her, like they would, for example, Celine Dion or Shania Twain. Also, when a star comes to YOUR city for a show, it's a lot more feasible for you to go seem them in your own city, because you just have to pay for the ticket. But Vegas is a whole different ball game, you have to pay for travelling cost, accommodation, ticket etc. So when all of this is put together, it is pretty commendable, what she been able to do in terms of ticket sales. I'm not trying to discredit Britney. She has had exceptional success! You're right that it says a lot about her legacy that people are coming to see her. Still, a world tour being played in arenas has a significantly larger amount of people per show.
