I've followed two big artists: Lady Gaga and Madonna. Worldwide. No need to do this for all artists, that's too much of a waste of time.

Live Nation reports concerts that are not sold out. The receipts are above and there is proof of this for every month of every year, if you go back and look at the official Billboard Boxscores over the past few years.

I could literally list hundreds of concerts that Live Nation has reported as non-sell outs.

You can clearly see above from the boxscores that posted Luc, that Live Nation isn't always reporting non-sellout shows. Gaga's ones are always sold-out even if they're not.

I said for Gaga. Billboard are always reported sold-out shows for Gaga in the US (and worldwide)

Boxscore numbers depend on the reports from promoters and the venues themselves.

Live Nation reports their numbers to Billboard, as we can see on every Billboard Boxscore official report over the years.

If Live Nation decides to report all Gaga...and I guess all Madonna, Rihanna, Jay Z, JT, Bruno, and Katy concerts as sold out, that's just what they do! I guess that means that these artists really don't sell out their tours.

Oh well....they still are all in the top 10 of concert draws and they are grossing 50 to 100 times more than I will probably ever make in my lifetime! ;)

the 3 show

is it sold out

????????????????????????????

Not entirely. All ~90% sold out, but officially they'll be counted as sold out shows ;)

Yup. It's happened once with the BTWB that a show was counted as not sold out, but she sold only 30k out of ~55k tickets (Colombia).

Wonder why Live Nation would only pick a couple of shows to report as not sold out? I noticed that with TMB and BTWB. Do they just throw those in there to look good, but then lie the rest of the time?

I wonder why Live Nation decided to stick it to Beyoncé, OF ALL PEOPLE  , and report only 40 out of 59 shows as being sold out.

Poor Bey...Live Nation hates her. :emo:

I think it's for her media image. People don't really care about these relatively small bands and whether they sell out or not. But Gaga's a huge pop star, so they'll report everything as sold out.

And perhaps it's marketing too, so that more resellers will buy (because the concerts 'always' sell out).

However, for Beyoncé it doesn't matter if the show were sold-out or not, because there are most of the time only some hundreds left, her numbers are still really bigs and her tour, one of the biggest  .

Live Nation doesn't work with Perry.

Mrs Carter Show flopped in Brazil.

:rip:

She has sold 118,500 tickets through 4 stadiums in Brazil, and had a +80k attendance at her Rock in Rio show. This is not what I call a flop, even if the stadiums weren't sold-out. She has sold 1,9 million tickets and her tour has grossed 227 million dollars.

However, we're not here to debate about Beyoncé fake "flops"...

Not in 2013, and not any bigger than Gaga's last two. Live Nation reported that 1/3 of Bey's shows were not sell-outs. How do you know there were only "hundreds of tickets left"? The only way to do that is to follow every date, checking on TM every hour for Beyoncé like you are doing with Gaga's. Why would Live Nation stick to reporting a non sell-out for Bey and not for other big names? It's not like Beyoncé didn't have influence and pull, even during her tour in 2013!

If it doesn't matter if Beyoncé sold out in 2013 or not, why does it matter if Gaga COMPLETELY sells out?

As long as Gaga grosses a high amount to make everyone happy (which she will!), why would Live Nation go with some underhanded reporting scheme just for her? They are either doing it for all of their big names or they aren't doing it for any of them!

You know if Gaga did the exact same numbers, you would be saying those numbers were an underperformance!

No he wouldn't. You really need to stop being so defensive. You're resorting to having long arguments with members and getting absolutely nowhere.
