Weren't the 7000 tickets first-day only? Didn't some article say it has already sold 17k?

 

Correction for the OP: 17000 of 70000 (Athens) is 24%, not 32%

That was the first day... It sold more than 17k tickets until now... I think she can easly sell up to 45k until the show if not more..

I hope they put something in that contract to get reimbursed if rescheduling affects ticket sales negatively... From 95% sold to probably less than 65%.  :millie:

And hype isn't everything. Everybody knows Miley is coming here and I've seen so many people talking about it and nobody about Gaga's date, yet Miley's date here is selling worse.

Yeah, but the hype will be huge when Gaga comes to Greece... I mean, Shakira sold like 40k tickets and Gaga is much bigger in Greece than her!

Shakira is bigger than Gaga here but anyways, I hope she sells at least 60.000 because she CAN do it.

 

Off topic. Golden standing has limited availability for weeks now. I am conviced they are addid tickets to make extra profit.. IF THESE MOTHER****ERS CONVERT GOLDEN STANDING THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SMALL SPACE IN FRONT OF THE STAGE. TO GENERAL ADMISSION ...

It wouldn't be in the venue's contract, but the tour would have insurance for cancellations of this nature. Probably what happens is that insurance will cover the difference in tickets sold. It would have looked better on the boxscores if the date didn't have to be cancelled, but Gaga, Interscope and Live Nation will still make the same amount of money as if this rescheduled show sold out.

 

It sucks that the boxscores won't look like they would have, but things like this happen from time to time for every artist who tours extensively.

Yeah the initial UK dates sold out in under 5 minutes so I think these dates that were only announced today should have been announced 2 months ago. Also the Glasgow and Birmingham  are both second dates for the artrave tour and these dates might be ok but she's going to two smaller cities,  Sheffield and Newcastle and I'm not sure how these will do. I think a lot of people are pissed because people will have already booked their tickets and now gaga has announced new dates that are a lot closer to them. Though I'm sure gaga will be ok in selling these, there's no one else big touring the UK at that time of year.

I wasn't referring to Philadelphia. My comment was completely about tonight's date, in Washington, D.C.

 

Insurance is for cancellations due to any kind of factors that the artist has no control over- sickness, injury, weather, cancellations by venue, etc. These situations are one of the many reasons a huge tour, with a top-notch sponsor, has tour insurance.

There is no doubt that Live Nation is the type of organization that has its i's dotted and its t's crossed.

I meant that Shakira is indeed bigger than Gaga but Gaga can sell more than Shakira since the promo of her here is huge and Gaga's concert is far more interesting even for the haters.
