blahblahblahhhh 15 Posted December 14, 2013 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Well if say for the year, 10 songs made it to #1 on the weekly charts, 10 made it to #2, 10 made it to #3 and 10 made it to #4 then a year end position of #37 would suggest it is in the 'made it to #4' band, and indeed Applause did make it #4 on the Hot 100. No mess at all. Exactly. Applause's position isn't bad at all, considering that it only peaked at #4. Its position also reflected in the year-end charts of Mediabase, in terms of accumulative AI. With decent sales and impressive streaming from a single that was released in the second half of 2013, a position within the 30-40 bracket seems to be the most fitting. Brave and Burn saw around 50% bumps in sales immediately following their performances. Even if DWUW doesn't see nearly that big of a boost, it should at least be able to approach the top 10. Roar always sees a boost on the weekend. It'll start falling again come Monday. The weekends always seem to be a bit nerve-wracking for the less established hits. Just so y'all know: Not all songs that are performed by guest performers go on to the types of bumps Brave and Burn got. The Voice viewers are partial to Alt. Rock and Ballads, so an R&B flavored Pop hit might night appeal to as many of the viewers. There have been several songs over the years that have hardly moved up at all.
