Adele is huge, but there are more people in the world who care about Rihanna than who care about Adele. Adele has 50 mil facebook likes and Rihanna 81 mil. I mean, in order to judge who is the biggest you have to take other factor into consideration. Adele's 21 sales were phenomenal because the album was very good and something different to the sounds of the times (EDM mostly). Similar artists had such albums - huge sellers WW like Alanis Morissette who sold 26m copies WW (more than 21) but was not the ''biggest'' star. You also have to measure the media presence, innovation and most importantly influence in the industry and the world generally. Gaga is certainly the most influental musician at the moment and the person who changed the music of our times and brought back the extravagant and controversy of the 80's. She also has a huge fanbase and she sells VERY WELL (top 4 best selling artists of our time, I would say). So I think she is the biggest! Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Adele doesn't have any hardcore fans or a noticeable fanbase, all her sales come from the GP and casual fans. She's like Pink, but then much more successful. 21 was phenomenal, but Adele isn't. Beyoncé is the biggest female in RnB. If someone say Rihanna again, they deserve BAN .. You can't be the biggest female and selling 3M Albums with your last 2 albums .. And her biggest hit We Found Love is hardly at 9M WW .. I mean Telephone is at 9M, Born This Way is at 9M (8.2 from 2011 alone) .. Rihanna's power has always been so so so overrated ... I mean releasing her album (post We Found Love slayage) on Black Friday and selling 220k or so ? And being her first number 1 and her biggest week ... Rihanna is the most appealing artist for the last 10 years, definitely not the most powerful / the biggest female ... Lady Gaga, Adele and even Beyonce >>> Rihanna and Katy ... Especially Katy.. More US radio with Rihanna, he needed a black for high urban and rhythmic spins. They cover all basis - black white pop rap.
