Just wondering... we all know this will be massive in the short run but is this type of release sustainable long-term?

Unless she gets a legit Top 10 single, no.

Not at all. This SCREAMS impulse purchases. People are buying it just cuz. It'll be frontloaded af.

And there's no physical release. The albums that benefit during the holiday season usually benefit physically unless they get a discount on iTunes [which I don't think will happen with this album].

That's what I'm fearing. For some reason I just don't have a good feeling about this type of release. It will generate massive hype and further solidify her ranking in the industry, but I don't see this being sustainable. I don't see it producing any individual hits, either.

Yup.

Everyone is saying "I don't even like her that much but I'm buying it because she did this"

her album could go in two ways:

doing good in the first weeks but end fast (kinda like Yeezus) because she has no hits to keep it alive or wont even promote.

or

do good as she gains hits and the album stays afloat.

idk but I'm interested to see how this will go

But this is an industry where people are no longer buying albums, so if you catch them by surprise, I guess the better it is and the more likely they are to buy it.

Have you listened to the songs? I'm guessing the former possibility is more likely than the latter.

Okay so after listening to the clips it makes sense as to why there was no lead single and a surprise release. Any song on this album released as the lead single would have killed the album :awkney:

Most of the people buying it NOW, though, are stans.

We'll see how the public reacts to this in due time.

I have to agree......
