Luc 4,775
Dark Horse 408,000 Roar 73,000 Unconditionally 32,000 Total: 513,000 Radio exposure: 240,000,000 million audience Albums sales: 20,000 (with a GRAMMY performance) 3.9% of people who buy her singles, are interested to buy her album. -- Do What U Want: 38,000 Applause: 27,000 Total: 65,000 Radio exposure: 90,000,000 million audience Album sales: 8,000 12,3% of people who buy her singles, are interested to buy her album. Not to brag or anything, but the situation is not that bad, %-wise, if we looked at it from a different side. Pretty sure ARTPOP's numbers would've been much much better if she had the same amount of payola exposure. Bad comparision. Gaga's selling on her name, Katy's selling on her name+singles. The difference in sales between them two is what? 15k album sales? And about 500k single sales? ( ). That'd mean that, if we say Gaga and Katy are equally big names in pop music right now, that Katy's single:album ratio is about 35:1 in Q1. Gaga has clearly made a deal with one of our big radio stations Q-Music, Looking at the spins Gaga got compared to Katy is clearly in the advantage for Gaga plus they are also giving away tickets for her concert. Other radio stations clearly pick Katy. Here’s the comparison: Katy: 3-2 Roar 2-2 Dark Horse 2-2 Roar 1-2 Dark Horse 31-1 Dark Horse Lady Gaga: 3-2 Alejandro 3-2 DWUW 2-2 DWUW 2-2 DWUW 2-2 DWUW 1-2 DWUW 1-2 DWUW 1-2 DWUW 1-2 DWUW Definitly not. QMusic is one the only HAC station in this country, who mostly appeals to women (unlike 3FM, 538, both try to appeal to men the most). On QMusic, chart positions don't really matter as long as a song is Top 40 or by a big artist. They'll spin artists like One Direction and Gaga much more,
GagaMyBlood95 9,915
Give me Gypsy, give me Venus, hell give me Donatella as a single, just give me SOMETHING!
craig 680
Exactly .. But the Media has never ever attacked someone for flopping as much as they did with Gaga when MTN flopped and now with ARTPOP And the media attention towards Gaga doing bad, makes it more "noticable" for the GP The media never cares if anything beyond the 2nd single flops. Even MTN. The focus is the lead single and opening weeks of album sales.
Luc 4,775
It's time to stop the Gypsy/Venus/MANiCURE/G.U.Y. talk and focus on how Gaga should promote ARTPOP. Do you think she should run ads that are less boring in the U.S? Her 02 ad was flawless where is that here idgi Commercials cost a ****load. With the money airing a commercial 50 times, she could make 15 videos for every song on the album or could make the most expensive video ever made. craig 680
Has any other artist ever had an era this messy? Hell yes, many times. This is nothing - no singles missing top 40 (yet), no disasterous live performance (Lana), no cancelled tour (Bionic).

mmonster 290
Hell yes, many times. This is nothing. No single missing top 40 yet, and no cancelled tour. i'm pretty sure she'll cancel her gig here in Lisbon nobody talks about her nowadays. i'm pretty sure lots of people still think she hasn't got an album out yet. she'll do the concert for 2,000 people

Ascetic 0
Commercials cost a ****load. With the money airing a commercial 50 times, she could make 15 videos for every song on the album or could make the most expensive video ever made. I'd rather her have a cheap looking video that people talk about and then have more exposure with the commercial/talk than E! News covering it tbh :derpga:
