A Gaga/Xtina redo will have a major problem being a single, in getting radio airplay to switch over enough to make a difference, especially on a song this old. They would need to rerecord it in a way that sounded completely fresh and new and gave the song a completely new life. It would take the right producer and a whole lot of luck. The video is not half of the song. I haven't seen a video for most of the songs I own. My friends never, ever mention seeing videos, unless they are completely viral like Wrecking Ball or What Does the Fox Say or the Kanye and Kim parody. Other than that, they aren't going to waste time looking up videos and watching them. A video is not going to make or break DWUW. It's too bad that Beats commercial didn't play in the US. Now, THAT is what would have made a big difference in the states!No, yoi haven't actualy understood the situation. All versions of the song are the single. The Xtina version and the 2 R Kelly versions all add up to the DWUW whole. Every version can became a single and have a video and still all versions will increase but the one with the video will get the bigger boost and the most attention and I personally think that this version must be the Xtina one. Still the overall result on radio and hot 100 will be the practically the same. Of course one version can promote the song better than the other, in my opinion the Xtina one, in your opinion the R.Kelly and this will make the actual difference between the 2 options final performance. And its obvious that the GP is not here for Gaga this era, but it's stupid how they blame Gaga for "ARTPOP" failure (although its not). Anyways, you didn't have to open the link.
