WarriorPrince 1
Imagine If we have 3 hits this era and all of them 3M DWUW hitting 3M after Its chart run because let's Imagine It will be top 5 on Itunes because of the amazing video during Christmas and New Year when the sales are huge. Gypsy hitting 3M because It's the best song on ARTPOP and It's a smash. And Applause hitting 3M because of DWUW and Gypsy keeping the era ALIVE PLEASEEEEE I wish We'll probably just gonna get Applause at 2.8M and DWUW + Gypsy at 2M. While the other singles will either reach gold or platinum.
Hamlet 67
What I want for ARTPOP: 3. Gypsy 4. ARTPOP 5. G.U.Y. lead single of P. II Fixed. I honestly think that Aura shouldn't be released at any point, promo single or not. Um it's not that catchy and it had some of the most weird/dated production on the album. Not that that's bad but it's was one of the biggest criticisms of the album. The lyrics were dirty so it would have suffered on radio anyway. Different isn't always good when it comes to the charts, I love the song but I doubt very much that the GP would have. "Heavy Metal Lover" has received generally positive reviews from music critics, with some commending its lyrical content and production. Many critics have also praised the song's opening line, "I want your whiskey mouth all over my blonde south". Sal Cinquemani of Slant Magazine called "Heavy Metal Lover" an anthem for "the typically flouted watersports-enthusiast community". Caryn Ganz of Spin was impressed with the track, calling it "grimy doom disco, along with 'Scheiße' and Government Hooker, while praising the line 'I want your whiskey mouth all over my blonde south', calling it "awesomely ludicrous" Jody Rosen from Rolling Stone called the song "smutty talk, set against a wall of fuzzy synthesizer sound". Kitty Empire of The Observer gave 'Heavy Metal Lover' a positive review, calling it one of the album's "sweet" moments. James Montgomery of MTV lauded the song, calling it the second best of 2011 behind Rolling in the Deep. He described the song as having "a masterful mix of Transformer-sized techno whomp and supple", and that it was "far and away the best song off Born This Way". He also praised the lyric "I want your whiskey mouth all over my blonde south" as an "added bonus" and that it "may very well be the best line of the year". Well critics are generally a bit more open to experimental music. You do know what watersports is right? Born This Way was the biggest hit on the album but probably the most criticized (granted it was her first single since TFM) MTN also got allot of praise from critics and that didn't do well. Valextra 58
I wouldn't like 'ARTPOP' as single because is the 'pearl' of the album, I don't see it as song for general public. In my opinion if 'DWUW' and 'Gypsy' they're gonna to slay like 'Telephone' and 'Alejandro' (hope better) or like 'Applause', for me they can release already the first single of the part two, and also for a question of time. DWUW hasn't already the video, so the song is at her beginning (December, January and the half of February is the chart period I hope). Gypsy from half February, March and April.. And then new single from ARTPOP part 2. By the way for me the part 2 will dipend of the first part chart, the two singles of course, if the album will not selling on the long time, in my opinion they will not to release the second part... :)

Bye 3,947
HML would have slayed. The chorus doesn't even need to be understood, it's just ooooh oooooh HEAVY METAL LOVER oooooh oooooh. That along with the synths would have done well with the public, I think. Just like most Gaga songs it had the ability to either flop or smash hard. Mariano 958
If I remember correctly MTV put Heavy Metal Lover In their top 10 songs of 2011 right ? HML Is one of my all time fav songs I have no Idea whether It'd have done good as a single or not (and yall don't have an Idea either, you just think you know everything ) but It's definitely an amazing song ! Luc 4,775
I don't know, but I honestly think that Heavy Metal Lover, along with Just Dance, is her most overrated song.

Someone who writes for MTV said it's his second favourite song of 2011 after Rolling In The Deep and that it's the best song from Born This Way. Heavy Metal Lover is my second favourite song from BTW after TEOG tbh I don't know, but I honestly think that Heavy Metal Lover, along with Just Dance, is her most overrated song. Just Dance, yes. HML is underrated tbh given that it's one of her best.
