I can't believe APPLAUSE is still top 20 on the radio :smh:

Seems like the reason for both Katy Perry and Lady Gaga second single difficulties (although I have really much faith in DO WHAT U WANT) was the fact that the lead singles turned out to be better than expected, more warmly recieved by the public...

On Pop radio, still 40% of the spins Gaga is getting go for APPLAUSE. Only 60% for DO WHAT U WANT. It's unbelievable that the song which had was recieved by critics without much enthusiasm and which was labeled as inappropriate for the lead single by so many fans is in the top 20 on the radio almost 5 months after its release  :fan:

DO WHAT U WANT wouldn't have faced many problems if it was released in January tbh  :usrs:

Same to Katy Perry - the stupid idea to release multiple singles before the album didn't play well, as Roar probably was too strong and taking much attention and spins from the new song.

I agree 100 percent. Gypsy needs to be the next single. We have the benefit with Itunes of seeing, all things equal, which songs are most popular with the buying public. Gypsy is pretty much selling itself. A mark of a very strong song.

This. And if the Grammy rumors are true then there's not a better song to perform at that show; the song shows off her real abilities as a performer. I just don't see any songs being as friendly to aid in re-building a GP support base at this point. Plus every person I've played the album for immediately loves Gypsy, my dad even wanted to know what the damn song was called after her acoustic Howard Stern performance!

After Gypsy I'm all for G.U.Y., MANiCURE, and Sexxx Dreams; but first she needs that support in the US IMO.

I agree, she got the GP softening up with Applause/ DWUW. Gypsy will be a hit if you look at the iTunes sales in different countries and then she can do a something more risky.

Definitely!

They will, and they will perform MANiCURE together on the 2014 VMAs and release MANiCURE (Remix) (Feat. Beyoncé) the following morning. It will reach #1 the following week of course :whitney:
