No but seriously i think girls are more important. She knows how to keep gays !

Yeah, the BTW era and The Fame Monster eras were great for gay males. She just has to keep them by staying with dance pop (less songs like J&D, DWUW, more like GUY, Donatella and Swine) and build a female fanbase is easy - you just need a smash hit and to look fierce, cool and beautiful at the same time.

Gaga has a management team. She is still represented by members from the Atom Factory.

But how important it is for an artist to have her own, one true manager like Troy was? I understand that there is a whole management team, but still artists have that one manager. Sorry, I just don't have any knowledge on this topic

It's a shame most of us didn't appreciate how much of a success Applause really was. Sure, it could have done better. But those 2 months of it being in the top 10 on iTunes were glorious. I'll be glad when it's finally certified 2X Plat and we can add it to her list of multi-platinum singles.

Fanbases never appreciate what they have.

Like my other fave Kylie - she had 3 UK Platinum studio albums with singles and tour success since Fever, but a lot of her online fans spent each era moaning it wasn't as successful as Fever and theorizing about what she ought to do.

Well, the Voice performance couldn't get the song TOP 10, so I can't help but wonder if the video can do that....

The DWUW is kind of ****ed right now. There isn't much she can do that will help it a lot, but it still has the chance to be a big hit. It just needs to play out.

But gays are the most loyal, so it's important to not leave them out like Britney is doing right now and remember that they are your second biggest audience, next to girls of all age. My point is that there's no point in trying to become popular among males, because males simply enjoy male voices more and females and gays enjoy female voices more. You don't have to appeal to straight men, because females and gay males are far more important.

Straight men outnumber gays so much, we're still a more valuable audience. And if straight guys despise something enough or think it uncool, it can rub off on their girlfriends. And we don't hate a good song by Diva G just because we've lifelong fans of Diva B or C.

We just don't talk about liking pop music in public much.

It will have a boost like every other song, but the question is - how much...

Whispering

the same song again   Stop saying that, the banners help the video only the first few days anyway :X  A song without a video is like using only half of the song's potential   Music video gets played on TV and even if It has 20M views If It's a good video It can still affect buyers ...  People are sharing it on social networks .. There are youtubers that make parodies ...  Applause without the video would've been dead by September ..

Nah, it had the hamster commercial. It was being played in the clubs on weekends and at sporting events on every level.

A video can be a big plus for a song, but it can also be a complete non-factor. I can name dozens of songs that I have downloaded after hearing them on the radio, commercials, or on streaming services. I have no idea what the videos that accompany these songs look like. I have never seen the mv that goes along with several of my favorite songs at the moment and I don't plan on spending the time to look them up. I liked a certain song, so I bought it and enjoy listening to it, that's what the average music buyer does.

In the real world, outside of the internet super fandom, people have no idea if there is a video to DWUW or not and they don't care! Unless a video gets widespread attention (like Wrecking Ball), real life average music listeners and buyers don't pay much attention, if any, to videos.

Rihanna, Shakira, and Kylie are all managed by Roc Nation, Jaz Z's management company.
