Pop Art 1,773
japan is not really here for that kind of sound 'm impressed ET didn't perform better tho Honestly, this just shows that Katy really isn't a global act. I don't mean that in a shady way, but that's what I get out of this. For referential purposes, this is how all her singles performed in Japan. - I Kissed a Girl: N/A - Hot n Cold: N/A - Thinking of You: N/A - Waking Up in Vegas: N/A - California Gurls: #10 - Teenage Dream: #19 - Firework: #46 - E.T.: N/A - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.): N/A - The One That Got Away: #62 - Part Of Me: #22 - Wide Awake: N/A - Roar: #4 - Unconditionally: N/A - Dark Horse: N/A (So far.) Pop Art 1,773
33. The Monster (feat. Rihanna) - Eminem f poor dat As catchy as this song is, it angers me because it was so painfully obvious that they were shooting for Love The Way You Lie 2.0 in terms of success. (Or at least it looks that way in my opinion.) I don't know why that bothers me, because I know it shouldn't, but it kind of does.

Ascetic 0
Wow Katy really did THAT bad in Japan? Let's see Gaga in Japan (Hot 100): Just Dance: #2 Poker Face: #21 LoveGame: N/A Paparazzi: N/A Bad Romance: #3 Telephone: #21 Alejandro: N/A Born This Way: #1 (#10 on Oricon) Judas: #3 TEOG: #8 You and I: #8 The Lady is A Tramp: #33 MTN: #51 Applause: #6 (#18 on Oricon) DWUW: #26 So she's had 7 Top 10 hits there, and one #1 It's interesting to see though, a lot of hits parallel from the US to Japan in peak Except some oddities, the charts there are a pretty good indication of how the US views the singles (of Gaga at least) Globega slaying continents at a time Also, Gaga is one of only four artists that are non-Japanese to top the chart
Essence 174
Let's see Gaga in Japan (Hot 100): Judas: #3 I've always had a soft spot for Japan
Ascetic 0
I've always had a soft spot for Japan US: #10 Actually not bad I mean not bad for this era at all plus Top 10 is respectable, especially for something like Judas and its themes
Luc 4,775
Granted I don't think she did promo for it in Japan, but they're really not here for this song are they? Japan doesn't like any kind of R&B, they simply like pure pop songs like Telephone, BTW and Judas. DWUW dropped out of the top 500 quite fast, eventhough the song was played in the background during SMAP. Telephone got played too, and it went Top 100. Guest
I have a strong feeling that she is doing and working at more than one video, we're gonna have our visual album Bookmark me. Gah I hope you're right
Griffin 6
Granted I don't think she did promo for it in Japan, but they're really not here for this song are they? It's a combination of both, she did a promo tour in early November similar to Gaga's and she doesn't have much chart success anyway. 33. The Monster (feat. Rihanna) - Eminem It never really seemed as if the public was here for this song. It just got tremendous radio support and the Rihanna-Eminem exposure. Ascetic 0
The Monster was the most disappointing #1 of all of 2013, even surpassing Harlem Shake imho. It just felt like such a hard attempt to earn Eminem another #
Ascetic 0
Holy ****, can you guys imagine how long Gangnam Style would have been #1 had Billboard introduced the Streaming Chart at that time? R.I.P Mariah's weave
