The Monster will top out at 3M and if Rihanna and Eminem can't cause a ruckus on the charts in the US, then I doubt Rihanna + Shakira will. Yeah, I know it was number one, but it was SUCH a non-event. No where near as big as LTWYL. But for Shakira, a multi-platinum single is a blessing considering she hasn't been relevant in the US since the Ice Age. I feel like the song Itself will be just really good. The Monster is catchy but It's generic like Roar with one difference that Roar's chorus is more anthemic and appeals more to kids. I feel like Shakira's song is going to be just so good that It will do well firstly because of the song itself and then of course because of Rihanna and Shakira .... Plus, she obviously got Rihanna on board cuz she knew it was the only way she'd get airplay. I just don't think pop girl collabs are very fruitful when it comes to musical output. They usually always suck. But who am I to burst your bubble? I hope I'm wrong. I just learned to lower my expectations for these types of things. Single choices, the album appealing to a broader audience than ARTPOP, discounts, massive promo, and less bashing from media results in the better sales. OMG, so much tea PREACH IT!
