I really don't understand so many people on here not being able to tell that Roar would be a smash. It's so completely obvious to me… On first listen I knew it would be huge on the charts.

After thr whole TD era Roar sounds so basic amd shiity to me that I think it's from Disney Channel and the video hasn't helped either. it's god-awful...

Married the Night

Which pop artists do you think will have smashing years? I think Gaga won't have radio success but will have tour success and in turn will some of the GP back for the next era. Remember, Gaga hasn't fully toured the US in 4 years. A lot of people need to be reminded why they liked her. And seeing an artist live ALWAYS does that to fans.

I think Adele will do very well. I could see P!nk putting out new material and it'll do well. Buno will have a good year too. Who else?

Same here. Again, even if it's not KP, Roar would have still performed great, chart-wise. Empowerment singles generally do well. And if you top it with Dr. Luke and Max Martin's production, then there's really no other reason for it to not succeed. Roar and DH are the most obvious smash hits to me from PRISM based on the first listen. Same goes with DWUW and Gypsy for ARTPOP. These are the type of songs I'd love to listen on radio over and over again, because they're clearly engineered for it.

Well the fact it sounds like it could be on a Teenage Dream B-side is enough of an indicator it would be a hit.

Gaga depends on ow will she bring/promote her next album it will be decisive moment of her career, she will either slay everyone or become irrelevant to GP (she will always have us though)

Katy will probably fade away very soon.

Rihanna will still keep her sucess balance

The HOT 100 mainstays, KP and Rihanna. And I'm also actually rooting for Lorde to finally hit into that next level of stardom. Once Team hits the top three, I believe things would be easier for her. And hopefully embark on a career close enough to the pop stars who debuted in the late 2000s (Rihanna, Gaga, Katy, Bieber).

Exactly... Other than the fact it has the exact formula for a hit, it also just sounds like one to me. DH is less obvious to me because it sounds so different.

And I agree with DWUW and Gypsy. While they're not my favorites on the album, they sound like obvious hits and most people on here would agree. If DWUW was released at a different time of the year and with a properly released MV, I do believe it would have done better.

Other artists are allowed to repeat their sound and have success. Kelly Clarkson's ballads, Pink's pop-rock sound, Beyonce's R&B sound, etc. All much older and more tired than Katy's Teenage Dream sound.

Why should Katy or Gaga be expected the re-invent the wheel every album?

radio success goes with tour success unless you are a truly established act like madonna or u2. if gaga won't have radio success, her touring power will diminish as well. people don't go to her concerts to be reminded that they like her, she has to convince the people way before the concerts.

Except if you sell enough tickets while singes 1 and 2 get high airplay, it may not matter much if 3 and 4 flop.
