Arturo 40,746
But...why? I mean, post album singles take sooo long to get off the ground and never really smash as hard as their predecessors. Not entirely true. Gaga, Katy, Rihanna, and P!nk have all had post-album singles that were bigger than one of their pre-album singles.
Deacon 5
I'll never forgive radio for doing Marry the Nightsus dirty like that. What's strange is that I heard MTN more times on the radio than I've heard DWUW so far (4 to 2).
Arturo 40,746
What's strange is that I heard MTN more times on the radio than I've heard DWUW so far (4 to 2). Really?.. I never heard MTN on the radio.. I hear DWUW all the time. It's #7 on Pop radio and that's definitely believable with the amount of times I'm hearing it play on KIIS and AMP in L.A Also, my 2 local rhythmic stations KCAQ and KVYB play it a lot too and another pop station here not so regularly but still plays it.. I can switch between those 5 channels and probably at least here it 2 times with every like 15 minute car ride.
mcoop 628
I want Gypsy to be the 3rd single so bad. Can we request to have it sped up like in this video? So good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXNnt87tJGk
Jake 0
I'll never forgive radio for doing Marry the Nightsus dirty like that. Radio actually tried to play Marry the Night. Sales just never caught up to airplay. Radio's always been good to her. That's what worries me about DWUW. It already has high airplay and still is lingering pretty low on iTunes. I've only heard DWUW once on a regular hour and another time during a live broadcast from the club. I'm sure they're playing it regularly on my stations (104.1 KRBE and 95.7 KKHH in Houston), but I just catch it at odd times. Still... I think it's pretty funny lol. Jake 0
radio has NOT always been good to her. Erm. Check the recites on that. Most played artist of 2009, one of the most played artists of 2010, and 2011. Every single reached top 10 on airplay at some point except Yoü and I, Judas, and Marry the Night and those songs (with the exception of Yoü and I which was a stretch for the pop format anyway) had very low sales. Radio built her. Applause did very well on radio and radio's basically trying to force Do What U Want to happen now. It has around 90 million AI with low sales. If that's not being good to her I don't know what is.

Whispering 18,865
I do so bad, but the radio edit version would ruin it. Why do people keep saying this?! The large majority of stations, especially the Pop or Rhythmic stations, are NOT going to edit out the word s-x. Some MIGHT edit the part about "...touch myself", but many of them will leave that. The HAC stations will be the ones playing the clean version. The Pop stations will leave the song as it is, with a few altering a line or two. Jake 0
no I'm saying she lost radio support at a point but now radio is back supporting her with full force :) that's why applause did so well It's just she really didn't. The only single that performed dismally on radio was Marry the Night and it had the 3rd highest (I think) debut on the pop format that year. Sales just never caught up so radio dropped it, kind of like Unconditionally. You're right though; the important thing is they're really embracing her now I just hope DWUW want becomes a dark horse (ba-dum ching) from continued airplay support and starts fling up iTunes
disneyhigh 43
Look at us, we're so worried and disappointed by Gaga compared with Katy, Miley, etc that we've lost all faith in her and think we can run her career better Just open up your minds to the Goddess of Love and see the possibilities
SharGaga 2,906
You realize Venus was released as a promo single and Gypsy wasn't? but in 1500 venus is higher than gypsy in almost every big market except US and canada
