Because market and the GP's taste concerning music change all the time... Can you be sure Poker Face or Bad Romance would have been hit songs if she would have released it few weeks ago ? No... It depends of a lot of things : the current taste of the GP, the kind of songs radios like to play, the other tracks released at the same time... I think that Gypsy can be considered a safe track that should have hit potential. However, I'm not sure if that'll happen. If an obvious smash like DWUW is struggling to stay in the top 20 on iTunes, I think we are done for large hits this era. A huge hit needs much more that a safe image to happen and much more than a safe image to not happen. DWUW didn't have timing combined with Gagas damaged career bu all these can change from one day to another. It has nothing to do with the music, just the hole that Gaga's image has been in lately. DWUW is at #12 overall airplay and #15 overall on iTunes. That's a reasonable place for it to be on the iTunes chart, especially for a song that has been out for a while. Also, it is doing much better in Canada and outside of the US and Applause did well in the US, which says that there are other factors at play here. There is no reason why a third single couldn't catch on better than DWUW in the US. The GP is still here for Gaga, as evidenced by Applause, her overall WW album numbers and how her tour is selling thus far. It may not be the same as when Gaga was at the top, but she is still one of the top pop females and is still valued as a force when it comes to touring.
