CharlesReyna 0
Lets get two more singles out before the tour. In this ARTPOP era, Gaga needs her songs to be flawlessly executed to go top 10 or deeper. I'm kinda worn out by DWUW and the video mess. Who cares about the Grammy's especially when she's not even nominated.
Griffin 6
What I was saying was that chart success has no real link to touring success. Every time Madonna impresses us with a big tour with no Top 10, Katy reminds us that all the #1's in the world can't sell out an arena in any country. The artRAVE is what Gaga will make of it, and it's clear she's done something right for The Monster Ball and Born This Way Ball, and I'm positive for that reason she can reel in big crowds in multiple countries for The ARTPOP Ball. Joel 877
The only part I agree with you is Latin America. Artists take long periods of time between their visits of Latin America. Don't say that
Griffin 6
Wait...why has no pop star ever released on the week of christmas? It'd be assured a massive gold debut, wouldn't have to worry about the rolling effect because of the new years freeze anyway and would jet set with a MV debut as well. It wouldn't appear on Billboard until the following year so it could just be considered a song from the following year. Great performance opportunities with multiple NYE events and a Grammy performance.

While I agree that touring success doesn't solely depend on the artist's chart performance for a particular album, have it been without those hits, wouldn't the California Dreams tour become a modest success? I mean, those #1's surely helped her to rake $60 million in gross revenue. Without those hits, the tour wouldn't even materialize. Yes, it's the repertoire or the track record of actually delivering a great show onstage that pulls everyone to purchase those tickets, but so do the hits an artist had or is having at the moment. In particular, Madonna's past chart success drives those concert ticket sales, doesn't it?

Too much competition - with every album getting that Holiday boost, it'd be quite challenging for most fans to keep track on it. There's a risk to be completely overshadowed. And speaking of DWUW, the views for the official audio of the Xtina version only needs less than 100k to finally reach 1 million. Not bad.

I agree with this. Even with low tickets sell and her injury she sell sold magnificently. She is a damn good performer and I can't count for the entire population but I know people that aren't major Gaga fans that still go see her on tour because they know she always puts on a great show. Essence 243
I've been hearing Applause way more than Do What U Want over the past month, and so have most of my friends according to them, but over the past week I've started hearing DWUW a lot more. My cousin who was staying with me used to be a Gaga fan and then lost interest during BTW really loved DWUW so I showed him ARTPOP and he said it's even better than The Fame Monster! I'm so glad her radio power is increasing and it's giving the songs exposure I mean it feels to great to hear her on the radio multiple times in one drive
Tyler1992 2,269
Why do we all want Gaga perform the third single at the Grammys so badly? I thought DWUW is still moving up on radio & is stable on Billboard. Despite what iTunes is currantly saying, I definately think the song still has potential to move up some more (that is if we get the video (which I'm still optimistic about). Computer 10,973
I just want to hear Do What U Want once on the radio, I haven't yet Mostly I play ARTPOP so I never hear the radio at all :megaflop: I always have to remind myself to check the radio for Gaga. 💚💛💕❣⭕💢💢 | ⓜⓔⓡⓡⓨ ©ⓗⓡⓘⓢⓣⓜⓐⓢ
craig 680
gaga is not madonna nor is she U2, Rolling Stones, Roger Waters, etc. legends that have built reputation over the course of decades can't be compared to a 5 year old act even if this 5 year old act has proven with 2 tour that she is above her generation and maybe even above some generations before music needs to keep building interest madonna didn't have 1 big album and then just became a legend nor did the stones, u2, etc... Beyonce is a better example. Her singles success has been spotty since B Day era, and she doesnt have decades of hits. But some charts success plus being a great live act gets her through. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyonc%C3%A9_Knowles_discography last leg of TMB in the US >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> US leg of TBTWB(had it finished it wouldn't had even come close) That's not because BTW hits weren't big enough - it's the idiocy of expecting to sell a tour with no promo, during a media blackout, over a year after your last hit was in top 10. Plus she was charging more than her peers.
itsdominik 16,831
Gaga's actually doing bad in Austria. It's just that you only hear the positive things from that Austrianmonster person Wut? Gaga is slaying here Dont talk nonsense. 4 #1 albums, The Fame is 7x Platinium, ARTPOP is close to 1x Platinium. 13 out of 14 singles went Top 10 (9 of them Top5 4 #1) BTW is close to 2x Platinium. Should I continue?
