Married the Night 3,955
I won't move on until the MV comes and its digital sales go down There are rumors of her starting over with the video or just removing all the s-xual parts. Which means the video will be a snooze and it won't help any. This video drama has ruined the single buzz and it won't recover. Bookmark me.
Stefani328 321
What else would she have said tho? Interscope made me do it and I totally hate it? She can't really bite the hand that feeds her at one point or another if Interscope says: this is gonna be the 2nd single because it's getting popular now she'll probably have to promote it. They probably gave it a chance since she done em both on several occassions but it was DWUW that seemed to be the more popular one and then the label won't care about Venus if DWUW can be the money maker. I love you I won't move on until the MV comes and its digital sales go down Preach

The best post i've read all day...it's obvious gaga wanted Venus as the second single but since interscope pushed for DWUW, she let them have it and supported them. Both of them are her songs, so she probably didn't make a big deal out of the single being changed
Luc 4,775
Oh well, I'm just sad that her management is so messy and that it truly hurts her success The best video i've read all day

MonsterMum 2,532
But I see it like this. A mega-smash hit gives you 10 million dollars, of which 75% goes to promotion of the song, studio time, writers, producers, etc. The rest is left for the label. 5 shows for a tour gives you 10 million dollars, of which like 75% goes to promotion, stage, artist, etc. The rest is left for the label I suppose. Now which is more profitable? I believe that it's not necessary to have the bigger moneymaker for a single, hell, I believe that it's better to put all of the profit from albums/singles in promotion for the next single. Yes that could be a good strategy with the old Gaga that was making money like as a company on her own. This Gaga had trouble coming back, criticised for overhyping an album and not delivering. GP that was withdrawn from her. Applause has had it's share of critic even before being released and well. So I can't really blame Interscope for thinking: if this is what the GP wants right now, let's give it to them. It was a chance of maneuvering her back towards the audience that seemed to love that song. Interscope wasn't gonna waist more time and dig into that opportunity. If they would have played their cards right (and Gaga would have fully co-operated) it would allow them and her more breathing space and more room for experiments and promo's. I love you
BananaTouch 0
Am I the only one who thinks that Venus would not be as stable as DWUW is right now in the top 20? I love Venus but IN the album, as I single I think it isn't that memorable. At least DWUW is catchy enough for people not to forget about it, though it's been promoted as hell in huge shows and it still failed to enter the top 10. Just my opinion, most of you probably don't agree. I had so much hope for the Rick Ross remix and to see such hideous result, I can't help but see why this thread has been rambling on and discussing Gaga's career lately. And now this Christina Aguilera remix which I hope is true, says the label hasn't been so indifferent with ARTPOP's profits and charting. Ps. Gaga was born as a superstar when she debuted with Just Dance at the Miss Universe and it went massive. You gotta admit those smash hits are needed. Nope I stated a few pages ago that Venus as a 2nd single is not a good idea, maybe if she'd have DWUW at a good position and Gypsy as 3rd single smashing but even then, not too sure. It has too many changes within the song to be a hit on the radio. A smash hit is catchy with a punch and Venus is a sizzle. You need to listen to it a few times before liking it and even then people might not "click" with it. Meaning the GP won't catch on and a single flops. Truth is, The Fame era Gaga barely made any money. Gaga was way more profitable during the Born This Way era, as crazy as it sounds. Just like how 2012 is one of the best years in Madonna's career despite most people not even knowing she had an album out.
